PRESS RELEASE

The Executive Team of Disability AID Liberia (DAL) recently appeared on Radio Cape Mount for a talk show organized as part of ongoing activities under the POWER Project.

The broadcast served to introduce the project to the public in Grand Cape Mount County and to highlight previous initiatives implemented in the region.

The POWER Project, funded by the Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) through UN Women Liberia, aims to support the economic recovery of war-affected women and women with disabilities across Grand Cape Mount, Lofa, Nimba, and Montserrado counties.

DAL is implementing the project in Grand Cape Mount County in partnership with the Disabled Children and Female Empowerment Network (DCFENETWORK).

In September, DAL conducted a three-day data collection survey that identified 500 young women and women with disabilities interested in agriculture, agribusiness, financial services, entrepreneurship, employment, leadership, and political participation. From this group, 150 beneficiaries were selected—75 from Gola Konneh District and 75 from Tewor District.

These participants recently completed a one-day financial literacy training, held on November 17th and 19th, equipping them with essential knowledge to enhance their economic participation. Additional project activities are forthcoming as the POWER Project continues to deliver support, capacity building, and opportunities to women in the targeted communities.

DAL extends sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the radio talk show, with special thanks to Mark M Rogers and James Bono for hosting the program.
