Engineering Society of Liberia Strengthens the Nation’s Role in Africa’s Engineering and Infrastructure Agenda.
As we move toward the inauguration of ESOL’s first Board of Accreditation, we are pleased to highlight Liberia’s active participation in the 9th Conference of the West African Federation of Engineering Organisations (FAEO), currently underway in Uganda.
Liberia, through the Engineering Society of Liberia (ESOL), is a registered member of the Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO), the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), and the West African Federation of Engineering Organizations (WAFEO). At this year’s gathering, Liberia was officially confirmed as a member of the FAEO Registrars’ Committee.
Since ESOL’s Board of Accreditation had not yet been inaugurated, the Chairman of ESOL’s Board of Directors Engr Director Jacob M. Fayad, assumed responsibility to represent Liberia on this important committee. Upon the society upcoming inauguration, leadership of the new Board of Accreditation will take up this mandate on behalf of Liberia.
The FAEO Registrars’ Committee pursues four strategic objectives which align with Liberia’s Infrastructure Agenda under Pillar Two of the Government’s Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID):
1️⃣ Harmonization of CPD Programmes – advancing professional training to ensure Liberian engineers are fully equipped to deliver quality infrastructure.
2️⃣ Establishment of an African Register – creating a credible platform for professional recognition and mobility, opening opportunities for Liberian engineers across the continent.
3️⃣ Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) – strengthening regional cooperation on infrastructure and engineering standards.
4️⃣ Policy and Standards Alignment – ensuring Liberia’s infrastructure development meets continental benchmarks and supports Agenda 2063 – The Africa We Want.
These commitments underscore Liberia’s determination to elevate engineering practice, strengthen infrastructure delivery, and position Liberian engineers as key contributors to Africa’s transformation.
We are also honored to share this platform with distinguished leaders, including the WFEO President, Eng. Shehu of Nigeria, and our own Eng. Toe, former ESOL President and now WAFEO President.
🇱🇷 This is not only a proud moment for the Engineering Society of Liberia, but also a significant step in aligning Liberia’s engineering sector with continental and global best practices ensuring that our infrastructure agenda is driven by excellence, integrity, and accountability.
