Close to Liberia's capital Monrovia, Martha Dewellie, a 60 year old Liberian teacher, founded this home for orphan children in the year of 1998, right between two civil wars in Liberia. Nowadays the orphanage welcomes babies, children, teenagers, and young adults, all living together as a big family. The Orphanage consists only of a common room, a bedroom for boys, one for girls and latrines that are not functional for the moment. They struggle with electricity and don't have running water. Some of their other needs go from food, clothes, to hygiene products and others. They were able to build, with our support a basic school that serves the orphanage and the village where they are located. The school is a landmark for the orphanage and the village but still misses teaching material, chairs and so much more.
