We see what you do.
We cherish it, and
We appreciate you.

♥ Qualified teachers impart, make impact and shift destinies with curriculums, lesson plans, chalks and roll books. In a real world, teachers rewards are not measured in cash exchange, but enveloped in recognition, appreciation and preference.
• They do not stand in long queues in banking halls,
• They do not stay longer along the roadside for car,
• They are recognized and dignified in the midst of dignitaries,
• They are role models and an inspiration to many.

So, as a teacher, don’t feel discouraged, and don’t leave the classroom, because doing so will dash the hope of children who look up to you as their role model and a parent far away from home.

To all teachers out there, NTAL says thank you for your services to the profession.
Always remember that you’re building a league of transformative and purpose-driven leaders that will change the dynamics, shift the fabrics and reignite the spirit of transformation for sustainable development in Liberia and our entire global village.

Be cognizant always that the prosperity of nations rests upon your shoulders as educators.

Kudos to all teachers and veterans-in-chalks. ♥

NATIONAL TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION OF LIBERIA (NTAL)

Press Release

Date: July 16, 2025
To: All Teachers, Education Workers, the Media, the General Public
From: The National Executive Committee, NTAL
Through: The National Secretariat, NTAL Headquarters
Subject: NTAL Distances Itself from Protest Actions by STAND and the CDC Youth League

The National Teachers’ Association of Liberia (NTAL), the recognized voice and professional home of all teachers and education workers across the Republic of Liberia, wishes to categorically distance itself from the ongoing protest being organized by the civil society group, Solidarity of Trust for a New Day (STAND) and the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Youth League.

We issue this press release to clarify the position of our institution and to urge all our members to refrain from associating NTAL with political protests or activities that are outside the scope of our professional mandate.

NTAL’s Identity and Mandate
The National Teachers’ Association of Liberia is a non-political, independent, and professional organization. Our mission is to advocate for:
• The welfare, rights, and professional development of teachers and education workers in Liberia;
• The promotion of quality, inclusive, and equitable education in all parts of the country;
• Constructive dialogue with government and education stakeholders through lawful, peaceful, and professional engagement mechanisms.
NTAL operates under the laws of the Republic of Liberia and aligns its advocacy within the bounds of respect for rule of law, national unity, and democratic principles. As such, we do not endorse, support, or participate in any protest that does not follow proper institutional consultation and lawful processes.

Clarification to All Members
We wish to clearly state that:
• NTAL is not a party to the ongoing protest actions or public demonstration(s) organized by STAND or the CDC Youth League;
• No authorization, verbal or written, has been issued by the National Executive Committee or the National Secretariat of NTAL for teachers or education workers to participate in these events under the NTAL banner;
• Any teacher or education worker who chooses to attend or support such actions is doing so entirely in their own name and shall bear full responsibility for their actions;
• NTAL's name, logo, or identity must not be used or represented at such gatherings without official consent, as this constitutes misrepresentation and may be subject to legal action.

Our Recommendation to Teachers and Education Workers
We urge all teachers and education workers across Liberia to:
1. Stay committed to their professional responsibilities in schools, classrooms, and communities;
2. Uphold the integrity of the teaching profession, refraining from involvement in politically motivated or unapproved mass actions;
3. Report any misuse or misrepresentation of the name or identity of NTAL to our official offices across counties or through our National Secretariat;
4. Be reminded that NTAL will continue to advocate for education sector reforms and teachers’ welfare through structured and recognized legal frameworks.

Conclusion
The National Teachers’ Association of Liberia calls on all education stakeholders, partners, parents, and the general public to take note of our position. We remain focused on building a stronger, more professional teaching workforce that advances national development, and not political or civil disobedience.
We encourage all to remain peaceful and patriotic in addressing national concerns.

Signed:
Mrs. Mary W. Mulbah Nyumah
