Today, May 28, the world observes World Menstrual Hygiene Day — a day that reminds us that menstruation is not a shameful experience, but a normal part of life that deserves dignity, education, and support.

At Hope Rising Heart Initiative, we believe menstrual support should go beyond one day of awareness or one-time pad distribution.

Periods happen every month. Support should happen all year.

Last year, we established two school-based Menstrual Pad Banks to provide girls with emergency menstrual pads, continued menstrual hygiene education, and school-based support throughout the year.

In just one year, this project helped reduce menstrual-related absenteeism by 15%.

This year, we are asking for your support to expand the Menstrual Pad Bank Project to 5 schools in rural Liberia. Our goal is to raise $3,500 to help provide pads, storage boxes/cabinets, menstrual hygiene education materials, school awareness sessions, community outreach, and follow-up support.

No girl should miss school because of her period.
No girl should feel ashamed because she menstruates.
No girl should be left behind because she cannot afford a pad.

Please donate, share, and help us build period-friendly schools where girls can learn with confidence, dignity, and hope all year round.

Donation details are on the flyer for Mobile Money and Bank Transfer.

Thank you for standing with the girls.

One of the most engaging components of our World Malaria Day Malaria Awareness Workshop was the student drama and quiz competitions.

Students from participating schools demonstrated exceptional creativity and understanding of malaria prevention and response.Through realistic and relatable performances, students clearly illustrated how everyday decisions—whether to delay care or seek early treatment—can determine health outcomes. The level of expression, confidence, and message delivery was both educative and inspiring, reflecting a strong grasp of key malaria prevention concepts.

The Harvester’s Academy emerged as the winner of the drama competition, delivering a powerful and well-coordinated performance.

In the quiz competition, the GlobalNet Preparatory Academy emerged as the overall winner.

These activities reaffirm that young people are not only learning—but are ready to lead. The quality of participation demonstrates growing awareness and the potential for students to serve as advocates for malaria prevention within their homes and communities.

World Malaria Day 2026

In commemoration of World Malaria Day 2026, we conducted an Awareness Workshop on Saturday, April 25 in Bernard’s Farm, District 4, Montserrado County, bringing together 30+ students and teachers from three high schools.

The workshop strengthened participants’ knowledge of malaria prevention, early detection, and treatment, while empowering students to serve as peer educators and community advocates. Through interactive learning, key behavior change messages—especially the importance of early testing and timely care—were effectively reinforced.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to community-based health education and youth empowerment as essential strategies in the fight against malaria. We remain dedicated to expanding impact-driven interventions and partnerships that contribute to improved health outcomes.

Together, we can end malaria.

Malaria is still taking lives in our communities—but this time, we’re doing something about it.

Today, we are bringing students together for a life-changing awareness workshop in commemoration of World Malaria Day.

🎯 THEME:
“Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can. Now We Must.”

Students will:
âś” Learn how to recognize malaria early
âś” Watch perform dramas showing life vs death choices
âś” Compete in an exciting quiz competition
âś” Win awards and become Malaria Champions

We are raising a generation that will not ignore symptoms.
We are building voices that will fight malaria in every home.
👊 Now we can. NOW WE MUST.

Hope is rising at Harvester! ❤️

Today’s monitoring visit reminded us that when young people are given the right support, they can become powerful champions for change. The students of Harvester are passionate, committed, and already taking ownership of their health club through teamwork, dedication, and continuous contribution toward small initiatives.

Their energy is inspiring, and with stronger support from both us and their school administration, this club has the potential to make lasting impact.

At Hope Rising Heart Initiative, we believe that empowering students today is an investment in a healthier tomorrow.
