FLY Vice President for International Affairs Participates in Mano River Union Youth Connekt Summit in Sierra Leone

The Office of the Vice President for International Affairs (VPIA) of the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) is pleased to announce that the Vice President for International Affairs, Hon Sherman Claudius Sanwon , is currently participating in the Mano River Union (MRU) Youth Connekt Summit 2026, being held from June 18–20, 2026 at the prestigious Bintumani Conference Hall in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The three-day summit has convened key stakeholders from across the Mano River Union sub-region, including Youth Ministers from MRU member states, over 50 young leaders from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Côte d'Ivoire, as well as government officials, development partners, United Nations agencies, and representatives from the private sector.
The summit seeks to foster regional cooperation among young people, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, strengthen peace and security, and create sustainable opportunities that empower youth to become active contributors to the socio-economic development of their respective countries.
As Vice President for International Affairs of the Federation of Liberian Youth, Hon. Sherman Claudius Sanwon's participation underscores the Federation's unwavering commitment to promoting youth diplomacy, regional integration, and meaningful engagement with international and sub-regional partners.
Speaking upon his arrival at the summit, Hon. Sanwon emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration among young people in addressing common challenges and advancing shared aspirations for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development across the Mano River Union.
"The future of our sub-region rests largely in the hands of young people. This summit provides a unique platform for us to exchange ideas, build networks, and formulate practical solutions that will positively impact our communities and nations," he stated.
The Office of the Vice President for International Affairs remains confident that Hon. Sanwon's engagement at the MRU Youth Connekt Summit will further strengthen Liberia's youth representation on the regional stage and create new opportunities for collaboration and advancement.
The Federation of Liberian Youth extends its appreciation to the organizers of the summit and reaffirms its commitment to championing initiatives that empower young people and amplify their voices within the Mano River Union and beyond.
