They left for the mountain looking fresh, confident and VERY ready. 😂

Then Gibi said, “Okay.” 😭😂🥱

This is our Experience Gibi 1.0 crew BEFORE vs. AFTER climbing the mountain.

The tired faces are real. The struggle was real. But so were the laughter, friendships, community experience, beautiful views and the feeling of finally making it to that waterfall. 💦

And somehow… we decided we needed to do it AGAIN. 😂

Except this time, we learned from 1.0 and we’re coming back better.

Experience Gibi 2.0 is a full Friday–Sunday weekend to step away from the usual routine and simply:

REST. RECONNECT. RESET.

Expect nature, the mountain and waterfall, local food and culture, community experiences, fishing, games, conversations, laughter and plenty of memories.

October is Mental Health Month, so we are also creating space to slow down, connect with people and nature, and simply be present.

Okay… remember when we said the tickets were coming? 🎟️

Well… THEY ARE HERE! ❤️

Five years ago, we were simply trying to build something that mattered. We definitely were not thinking about a five-year anniversary dinner.

But here we are.

On Thursday, November 26, 2026, we’re bringing the HMNI family together for one special evening—to look back at where we started, hear the stories behind the impact, celebrate the people and partners who walked this journey with us, premiere our 5-year impact documentary, and raise support for what comes next.

And now, you can officially get your ticket. 🎟️

Whether you’re joining us as a community supporter, getting a Standard or VIP ticket, becoming an Impact Partner, or bringing your people together around an Impact or Sponsor Table, there is a place for you in the room.

“Wait… HMNI is turning FIVE? So how did all of this even start?” 👀

Good question. 😂❤️

Because before the programs, partnerships, communities, team, and everything you see today… there was simply an idea and a few young people trying to figure out how to make it work.

And whew, a LOT has happened since then. 😅

There have been firsts. Mistakes. Small wins that felt very big at the time. People who showed up when there wasn’t much to show up for. Communities that taught us how to do the work better. Partners who believed. Young people who grew with us. And many moments that slowly shaped HMNI into what it is today.

So, as we celebrate five years, we thought maybe it’s time to answer the question properly:

What exactly is the HMNI story?

Experience Gibi 2.0 registration is officially OPEN! 🌿⛰️❤️

We piloted it. We learned. We listened. And this October, we are coming back with an even better experience. 😭😂

From October 9–11, we are heading back to Peter’s Town, Gibi for a full weekend to Rest. Reconnect. Reset.

This time, expect even more of the community experience — learning from the people who call Gibi home, experiencing local culture, fishing together, learning some traditional skills, enjoying local foods including dry meat 😋, connecting with the community, and of course… making that journey up the mountain to experience the waterfall. ⛰️💦

And because October is Mental Health Month, we are creating room to step away from the everyday noise, breathe, laugh, connect with people and nature, and simply be present.

There is another reason this edition is special. ❤️ As HMNI approaches five years, Experience Gibi is also one way for us to bring people closer to the communities we work with — not just to hear about them, but to visit, connect, learn and experience them.

Were YOU there? ❤️

Five years later, we find ourselves going back through old photos and videos and remembering the people, places, first attempts, long days, small wins, laughter, and moments that helped shape HMNI.

Some pictures make us smile. Some take us right back. And some remind us just how far we have come.

The beautiful thing is that we were never on this journey alone.

So many people walked a part of these five years with us. You volunteered. You attended a training. You welcomed us into your community. You partnered with us. You supported us. You believed in an idea that was still finding its feet. You simply showed up.

And somewhere, you may still have a piece of that history. ❤️

Maybe it is an old photo in your gallery. A video from an outreach. An event shirt. A Facebook memory. A picture from your first HMNI engagement. Or one little moment we may have completely forgotten.

We want to remember with you.

New week, new conversation. 😄

Last Friday, we had our regular Tea & Talk, and it was honestly such a beautiful moment seeing our team, volunteers, and impact documentary volunteer relax, laugh, and enjoy informal conversation after work.

Now you would think we sat down to talk about maternal and child health, SRHR, or community work, right? But no. This time, we brought it down to real life. 😂

The topic was: How long should a talking stage last?

The ladies said it should last at least one month.
The men said seven days is enough — and my people, they even came with a whole seven-day framework. Imagine. Just imagine. 😂

Interestingly, the men won the conversation.

So as we start this new week, let’s hear from you: How long should a talking stage really last?

Five years later, young people are still showing up.

We started with young people coming together around an idea—giving their time, learning as we went, and believing we could do something meaningful. Five years later, that spirit is still alive.

Meet Sylvia Anderson, She joined our volunteer task force this year and has become a powerful force on the team, especially as part of our Impact Documentary Team—the young people now helping us capture and tell the stories of these five years. In this video, Sylvia shares why she joined HMNI, what she has learned, and what being part of this journey has meant to her.

Her story reminds us of something special: young people helped start this journey, and young people are still helping carry it forward.

As we prepare to launch tickets for the @5 Impact Dinner, we hope you see a little of yourself in these stories. If you have ever volunteered, partnered, participated, supported, or simply believed in HMNI along the way, we hope you will come celebrate these five years with us.

Okay… now it’s starting to feel real. 👀

Five years of stories. Five years of people—our team, partners, volunteers, friends, and supporters—showing up. Five years of learning, growing, and creating impact alongside the communities we serve.

And this November, we’re bringing it all together in one ROOM.

The Impact Dinner will be a night to look back at the journey, hear the stories behind the impact, premiere our 5-year impact documentary, celebrate the people and partners who helped us get here, and raise support for what comes next.

Because oh yes… we need to continue this greattt work. 😄

We started this journey five years ago not knowing many things. We learned by doing, by listening, by making mistakes, by adjusting, and by growing.

Now, we’re stepping into the next five years with so much more clarity about who we are, what works, and the impact we still want to create.

Five years down. The next chapter is calling.
