A few months ago, we partnered with the GR Foundation to build a toilet for Ishan, one of our children with cerebral palsy.

When we first met Ishan's family, their existing pit toilet had collapsed during the rainy season. Living in extreme poverty, they had no choice but to rely on their neighbors every single day just to meet their basic needs.

Thanks to the swift fundraising efforts of the GR Foundation team, Ishan and his family now have a safe, fully equipped toilet. We are deeply grateful for their urgent support in transforming this family's daily life. 🧡

සහභාගී වුණා විතරක් නෙවෙයි, වෙනදා වගේම විශිෂ්ට ජයග්‍රහණ රැසක් අපේ කරගන්න අපේ දක්ෂ පොඩ්ඩන්ට හැකියාව ලැබුණා. 🧡

මේ හැම ජයග්‍රහණයකම පිටුපස ඉඳන් අපේ දරුවන්ව දිරිගන්වමින්, මහන්සි වෙලා ඔවුන්ව පුහුණු කරලා, මේ වගේ විශිෂ්ට ජයග්‍රහණ රැසක් කරා අපේ දරුවන්ව රැගෙන ගිය සුරේෂ් හෂාන් සර්ට ( Hashan Sir) අපගේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තුතිය සහ ඉමහත් ගෞරවය පිරිනමන්නෙමු! 🙏🧡

Our children were able to shine at the 2026 Badulla Athletic Championship for people with disabilities, bringing home a lot of medals.

Here are our victors: 🥇🧡

🥇Imasha Tharindu : 100m (1st place), 200m (1st place), Shot Put (1st place)

🥇Chathurika Jayamali: Long Jump (1st place), 100m (1st place), Shot Put (2nd place)

🥇Pasindu Savinda: Shot Put (1st place), 100m (3rd place)

🥇Charith Madushanka: 100m (1st place)

🥉Dilhari Sevwandi: Long Jump (3rd place)

None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication behind the scenes. A massive thank you and deepest respect to Suresh Hashan Sir. Thank you for your tireless training, constant encouragement, and for guiding these children to reach such great heights. 🙏🧡

A special day with our friends from Lithuania, who spent time with the kids, brought so many gifts, and provided all the support they could for our school for children with special needs. Thank you, Aiste, for this special video featuring the handmade gifts our children created with the help of their teachers.

So happy to see you with them! It was a truly meaningful and happy exchange we’ll always remember. 🧡

When disaster struck in Sri Lanka, the Foundation of Goodness stepped in to support the children and families affected in Nuwara Eliya and Welimada alongside the Suriya Foundation. This relief project delivered essential grocery packs to 80 children with disabilities and their families across the flood and landslide areas. 🧡

Another heartfelt thank you to Kushil and Ananda from the Foundation of Goodness for making this possible. Your kindness reached families at a moment they needed it most, and it brought hope back into homes that had lost so much.🧡

A heartfelt thank-you to Davud Akhundzada for connecting us with Sue, and to Sue for guiding us to the Foundation of Goodness.

වාර්ෂිකව පවත්වෙන දිවුරුම්වෙල පුරාණ රජමහා විහාරයේ කඨින පූජෝත්සවයට මෙවරද සුරිය පදනමේ අපේ දරුවන් සහභාගී විය. 🧡

අපේ දරුවන් ආදරයෙන් තමන්ගේ අතින්ම සෑදූ විවිධ භාණ්ඩ පූජා කිරීමට හැකි වු අතර, සෑම අවුරුද්දකම මෙන්ම, අපේ දරුවන්ට කඨින චීවර පූජා කිරීමට අවස්ථාව ලබාදුන් දිවුරුම්පොල රජමහා විහාරයේ ගරු පල්ලෙබෝවල ඥානආනන්ද ස්වාමීන්වහන්සේට අපගේ හෘදයාංගම ගෞරවය පළ කරමු.

The children of the Suriya Foundation had the honour of attending the Katina Pinkama of 2025 at Divurumwela Purana Rajamaha Viharaya. 🧡

Our children lovingly prepared handmade offerings to present to the venerable monks. With deep gratitude, we thank Venerable Pallebowala Gnananda Thero of Divurumpola Rajamaha Viharaya, a pillar of our success, for giving our children the opportunity to present the Katina Cheevaraya to the monks.

The Suriya Foundation recently had the chance to do something deeply meaningful, a story that truly moved us.

We came into contact with the parents of a 23-year-old young boy. To respect the family’s privacy, we have chosen not to share his name or photos.

He was a bright student who achieved 3Bs in A/L Mathematics and was in his second year at university when tragedy struck. When he was just 21, he fell from a four-story building, suffering severe spinal and brain damage.

After spending a full year at Ragama Hospital and being bedridden for more than two years, doctors said that he needed a tilting bed costing around 200,000 LKR for spinal rehabilitation and circulation.

The Suriya Foundation was able to give this special bed to his family. It was a very emotional moment filled with tears, gratitude, and immense hope, reminding us how fragile life can be and how much kindness and care can mean to someone who needs them.

Let’s keep looking out for each other, stay safe, and always show love. 🧡
