Established for over 50 years, the Prithipura Communities of Sri Lanka is an organisation dedicated to the care and assistance of children with disabilities. Our philosophy is to provide a loving and caring environment, which will allow the best possible avenues for the children's growth and development. The people who live with us are mostly infants, children and young adults, although some of ou
r residents are in their fifties too. Those who arrive here as children have often been abandoned by their parents and consequently have very little hope of returning to society after rehabilitation, education and training. The care and education we provide, as well as the internal job opportunities that we have created at our four different branches, offer the children the possibility of growing in a healthy and loving atmosphere, developing their skills and engaging in meaningful work. Our organisation consists of fours centres located in various part of Sri Lanka, where a number of about 250 children and adults live and are cared for. We are a non-profit, non-governmental organisation registered as a charity in Sri Lanka, catering to people regardless of race, religion or financial means. We rely on donors and sponsors and expect no payment from those who use our services or their families.
