The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, with the generous financial support of the Hong Kong Red Cross, successfully conducted a school kit distribution program in the Ratnapura and Elapatha Divisional Secretariat areas to support students affected by the recent floods, under the patronage of the Hony. Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province, Mrs. Champa Janaki Rajarathne 🌊

Following the disaster, many children faced difficulties in continuing their education due to the loss of essential school supplies. Through this initiative, we aim to ease that burden by providing necessary learning materials, helping students return to school with confidence and dignity. ❤️📖

A total of 1,000 school kits were distributed among schools across the district through this program.

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society successfully conducted the second phase of the First Aid Service for Sri Pada pilgrims during the pilgrimage season.

For this humanitarian mission, dedicated First Aid Instructors, trained First Aiders, and committed volunteers were deployed to provide emergency assistance and ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims throughout the journey.

We sincerely appreciate the commitment, teamwork, and voluntary service of everyone who contributed to this important activity.

On April 12th, 2026, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Ratnapura Branch, with the valuable support of IFRC and funding support from the Hong Kong Red Cross, successfully conducted a School Pack Distribution at R/Sivali Maha Vidyalaya.

The programme was attended by the Mayor of Ratnapura Municipal Council, the Principal of R/Sivali Maha Vidyalaya, and the Committee members, Branch Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society , Ratnapura Branch, together with students, teachers, and

This initiative was organized to support students affected by the Ditwa Cyclone and encourage them to continue their education with confidence and hope.

Every school pack shared was more than educational supplies ,it was a symbol of care, encouragement, and solidarity during a difficult time.
