OHA Executive Committee Meets with Director General of SLIATE to Discuss Hardy ATI Development

Dear Hardians,We are pleased to inform you that the Executive Committee of the Old Hardians Association (OHA) met with the Director General of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE) on July 24, 2026.

The primary objective of this meeting was to discuss strategic initiatives for the overall development and advancement of the Hardy Advanced Technological Institute (Hardy ATI).The discussion was highly successful and productive.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Director General, Dr. Chandana Rodrigo and the Deputy Director General Mr. Keerthi Nawarathne, for their unwavering support and shared commitment to elevating our institution.

Prof Hardy's 135th Birthday Anniversary

A Meritorious event to commemorate Prof Hardy's 135th Birthday Anniversary was conducted on 1st Oct 2025 at the ‘Adara Sevana children’s home’ in Koralawella, Moratuwa.

Lunch for children was donated and gifts were distributed. 27 number of children were there. Father Lakpriya De Silva and this place was selected for a special reason. They all belongs to the same faith of Prof. Evan A, Hardy.

The event was well supported with generous contributions made by our kind hearted members.

Flag hoisting ceremony on 4th February to celebrate 78th Independence 2026
78th independence day was celebrated with the participation of veteran Hardians including Col. Samarasena, Upul Jayathilaka and the President Ashoka Jayarathna, Secretary Sunil Chandrakumara and other committee members.

Prof. Hardy Memorial Scholarship program on the 15th February 2026
The Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony of the Old Hardians' Association, the alumni body of the Hardy Advanced Technological Institute, Ampara, was held on 15th February 2026 with great pride and enthusiasm, recognizing outstanding academic achievement and reaffirming the alumni’s commitment to the development of the institute.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including the Director General of the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education, Mr. Chandana Rodrigo; Deputy Director General Mr. Keerthi Nawarathne; District Secretary of Ampara Mr. Chinthaka Abeywickrama; and Director of Hardy ATI Dr. S. Vijayanathan. The event was also attended by academic and non-academic staff members, students, and members of the Old Hardians’ Association.
Scholarships were awarded to six top-performing students from six HND stream, namely Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, National Diploma in Information Technology, National Diploma in Management, National Diploma in Agriculture, National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and National Diploma in English. Each recipient received a memorial certificate in honour of Prof. Evan A. Hardy along with a financial award.

Old Hardians’ Association – Blood Donation Campaign | Appreciation Message

The Old Hardians’ Association successfully concluded the Blood Donation Campaign held on 3 December 2025 at the Prof. Evan A. Hardy Centre, Ratmalana, in commemoration of the 62nd death anniversary of Prof. Evan A. Hardy.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all blood donors who came forward with generosity and compassion to give the gift of life. Your selfless contribution has made a real difference, offering hope and support to those in need.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to everyone who supported this initiative—our dedicated organizers, volunteers, medical teams, and generous sponsors—whose commitment and teamwork ensured the smooth and successful completion of the campaign. Without your invaluable support, this noble effort would not have been possible.

This event was more than a donation drive; it was a true reflection of unity, kindness, and social responsibility within the Old Hardians community. It honored the enduring legacy of Prof. Evan A. Hardy by serving humanity in a meaningful and impactful way.
