Learning goes beyond academics it's also about helping children understand themselves. 💛

Tilli is a play-based learning tool that helps children aged 5 to 10 develop foundational cognitive and social-emotional skills
such as self-awareness, emotional regulation and healthy relationships alongside their academic learning.

At INLK, we partner with Tilli to bring this approach into our Child Rights & Education work, creating opportunities for children to learn, express themselves and develop skills that support them beyond the classroom.

And this is just the beginning.

Stay tuned to see how Tilli is applied within one of our Child Rights & Education initiatives.

Childhood should be a time for curiosity, laughter, learning and simply being a child. 💛

But for many children across Sri Lanka, circumstances can define those years in ways they never chose. That’s why creating safe spaces, strengthening access to education, and supporting children to develop the skills they need to thrive matters.

Today, we celebrate every child- their curiosity, their joy, and all the possibilities ahead of them.

Happy Children’s Day from International Needs Lanka.

What becomes possible when women have greater access to opportunities?

It can mean more than earning an income. It can mean greater confidence to make decisions, greater independence, and a stronger voice in the choices that shape their families and communities.

At INLK, 'Women’s Empowerment' is about creating the space and providing the support women need to build that agency.

Our Self-Help Groups are one part of this work — bringing women together to learn, save, share experiences and support one another, both emotionally and financially.

Because when women have the opportunity to grow, the impact can extend beyond one woman. It can strengthen households, livelihoods and communities.

HERE’S A GLIMPSE OF WHAT’S TAKING ROOT IN KADURUGODAGAMA. 🌱

In Kadurugodagama, our work is about more than agriculture. It’s about strengthening the wellbeing of farming households by helping them access the resources, knowledge and support they need to build more secure livelihoods.

Through INLK’s Livelihood Development work, farmers are learning new techniques and practices that can help increase agricultural productivity and strengthen household incomes.

From preparing the land and introducing sustainable farming practices to involving more farmers in the learning process, the work in Kadurugodagama reflects our belief that lasting change begins with strengthening the foundations of everyday life.

Meet Jeyqueen.

For INLK, Livelihood Development is about creating pathways for people to build greater stability through the opportunities available to them.

Sometimes, that pathway begins with something small, an opportunity, the right resources, and the ability to turn them into something that can grow.

Jeyqueen’s story is one example of what that can look like and of how the right opportunities and support can help a livelihood take root and grow.

This is what Livelihood Development looks like.

A livelihood is not simply about earning an income. It’s about having something you can build on.

For families and communities, a stronger livelihood means greater confidence to meet today’s needs, plan for tomorrow, and create opportunities for what comes next.

That’s why our work goes beyond providing support. We focus on helping people build on existing skills, strengthen knowledge, and connect people with the resources and opportunities they need to build livelihoods that last.

Because when people have the means to grow, the possibilities grow with them.

For many families, accessing safe and clean water means long walks, repeated trips, and hours spent away from home. The cost of this burden is measured in missed opportunities. For women and girls, who often carry much of this responsibility, it can mean less time for education, earning a livelihood, caring for their families, or simply being together.

At International Needs Lanka, we believe access to clean water is the foundation for healthier lives, stronger livelihoods, and more resilient communities.

Every well restored, water filter distributed, and water source rehabilitated helps remove a daily burden and opens up new possibilities that extend far beyond a single household.

Because when safe water is accessible, children can focus on learning, families can focus on building their futures, and communities can move forward.

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream without limits.

At International Needs Lanka, Child Rights and Education is one of our core focus areas. We believe that when children are given the right foundation, they can grow into confident individuals who strengthen their families, uplift their communities, and help break the cycle of poverty.

By working alongside children, families, schools, and communities to improve access to education and nutritional meals, and by conducting awareness sessions, we create safe, nurturing environments where every child can learn, thrive, and realise their full potential.

Because investing in a child today is an investment in a community's future.

Creating Ripples of Transformation - one child, one future, one community at a time.

Five focus areas. One shared mission. Countless communities impacted.

From improving access to clean water to raising awareness on the children's rights, every project we implement is built on one belief: communities do not need to be rescued; they need to be equipped.

Through local partnerships and community-led programs, our mission is to equip members of under-resourced communities with the knowledge, skills and resources they need to transform their lives and their communities.

Sometimes, transformation begins with one person answering a calling. ❤️

When Punidha, a teacher, first met a group of children with special needs, she saw more than their challenges - she saw their potential. What began as a burden on her heart soon became a purpose that continues to transform lives.

With the support, training, and encouragement provided by International Needs Lanka, she has been able to continue her important work and equip these children with the confidence and skills to learn, communicate, and grow in ways that once seemed out of reach.

Her story reminds us that investing in education is about more than classrooms and lessons. It's about investing in the people who nurture, inspire, and believe in every child's potential.

Because when children are given the opportunity to thrive, they grow into individuals who can shape stronger families, stronger communities, and a brighter future.

Every child reached. Every life transformed. Another Ripple of Transformation.
