Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Mullaitivu Branch volunteers joined hands with the Chemmalai community for a coastal clean-up at Chemmalai Beach.

Together, we took a step towards protecting our coastline, raising environmental awareness, and promoting a cleaner and healthier future.

In the remote and flood-affected village of Siraddikulam, Manthai East—where roads are poor and transportation is almost nonexistent—hope arrived. ❤️

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Mullaitivu Branch , together with the Health Department, conducted a medical camp nearly 120KM away from Mullaitivu town, reaching a community with very limited access to healthcare.

For many, this was more than a service—it was a moment of relief, care, and renewed hope.

No distance is too far when humanity calls. 🤍

Due to the recent escalation of hostilities in Iran, many families around the world are experiencing difficulties contacting their loved ones because of internet and communication disruptions.

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) has activated a Restoring Family Links (RFL) Hotline to assist individuals in Sri Lanka who may be anxious about family members currently in Iran or other affected countries, or unable to establish contact with them.

Through the Red Cross and Red Crescent Family Links Network, requests for “Anxious for News” messages can be collected and shared with the Iranian Red Crescent Society to help reconnect families where possible.

𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭.

In response to the severe impact of Cyclone Ditwah, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Mullaitivu Branch organized a medical camp on 04 February 2026 for the affected communities of Mannakandal, Vasanthapuram, and Kerudamadu villages under the Puthukkudiyiruppu Divisional Secretariat, Mullaitivu.

The camp provided medical consultations, essential medicines, first aid services, health check-ups, and health awareness, reaching over 100 beneficiaries who were affected by the cyclone and its aftermath.

This initiative reflects our continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during times of crisis and strengthening their path to recovery.

🌊 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞

In our collective effort to protect the environment and restore public spaces affected by Cyclone Ditwah, the Mass Clean-Up Campaign was successfully conducted today in Mullaitivu.

The campaign commenced at 7.00 a.m. in the esteemed presence of the Government Agent, Mr. A. Umamaheswaran.

The coastal areas were thoroughly cleaned with the active participation of local communities, government officials, Sri Lanka Army personnel, and dedicated Sri Lanka Red Cross volunteers.

This remarkable collaboration reflects the strength of unity, civic responsibility, and commitment to environmental sustainability.
