මානව අයිතිවාසිකම් සහ මනුෂ්‍යත්වය වෙනුවෙන් ඔහු කළ සේවය සැමදා ගෞරවයෙන් සිහිපත් කරමු.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. D. S. Jayantha Kalubowila, Director General of The Fundamental Rights and Other Rights Organization of Sri Lanka, who had been undergoing medical treatment for some time.

His dedication and service towards human rights, justice, and humanity will always be remembered with great respect and gratitude.

At this difficult moment, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, and loved ones.

The legendary Sri Lankan singer Latha Walpola has passed away at the age of 92. Born in Mount Lavinia in 1934, she made her debut on Radio Ceylon at just 12 years old and recorded over 10,000 songs, including in foreign languages. Revered as the eternal “Queen of Songs” of Sri Lankan cinema, she began playback singing in 1953 with Eda Ra and sang for over 600 films throughout her remarkable career. Her voice will forever remain in the hearts of generations.
