Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un.
With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we pray to Allah to grant Al Haj Razik Hajiyar, Founder & Chairman of Misbahiyya Arabic College, Gampola, the highest مقام in Jannathul Firdaus, forgive all his shortcomings, and accept his lifelong خدمة as a عظیم Sadaqah Jariyah. Ameen.
Al Haj Razik Hajiyar dedicated his entire life to the service of Deen and the betterment of the Ummah. For over 27 years as Madrasa Chairman and 17 years as Masjid President, he led with sincerity, humility, and unwavering commitment.
Through his noble efforts, the madrasa produced:
Over 160+ Huffaz ,127 Ulama , 97 students
@ continuing their studies
His vision built not just an institution, but a legacy with 3 buildings and solar power systems in two buildings, ensuring sustainability for future generations.
He was a man of exceptional taqwa and integrity. Despite his position, he lived with great caution , even refraining from eating at the madrasa out of fear of taking anything that was not rightfully his.
Even at the age of 76, he continued to strive tirelessly, personally meeting donors and working for the upliftment of the madrasa. A humble servant, a courageous leader, and a man known for wise and just decisions.
At the moments of Sakarath, his concern remained with his students:
“Did the madrasa students eat or not?”
His impact is clearly seen across the community. Among Gampola’s 37 Masjids, many Chief Imams are his students. His students have gone on to become not only Huffaz and Ulama, but also teachers, lawyers, and professionals, contributing greatly to society.
The madrasa has also produced M***is, including the current Principal, M***i Al Hafiz Al Aalim Hisham, a proud product of this institution.
In a powerful testimony to his life, his Janazah was washed, carried, prayed, and buried entirely by his own students. People from all parts of Sri Lanka and even overseas gathered to attend. Former students and principals stood in tears, making du‘a a reflection of the love and respect he earned.
We bear witness, with sincerity, that he lived a life devoted to Allah and His Deen, and we pray that he is among those who have attained success in the Hereafter and are granted Jannah, Insha Allah.
Though he did not make his own children Huffaz or Ulama, he devoted his entire life to nurturing hundreds of others into guardians and scholars of Islam.
May Allah accept all his خدمات, elevate his ranks, widen his grave, and grant patience to his family, students, and all those who loved him. Ameen.
