| Poson Poya Day |
🍦Ice Cream Dansal at St. Vincent’s Home 🕊️

Today, on this sacred Poson Poya Day, we at St. Vincent’s Home came together in the spirit of solidarity, love, and unity.

Our boys and staff – including our Buddhist brothers & Sisters – joined hands to organize a joyful ice cream dansal to celebrate this important day in Sri Lanka’s spiritual calendar.

Though we come from different faiths, our mission remains one:
To walk together in peace, compassion, and respect.

This simple act of sharing reminds us that love knows no boundaries.
It was a moment of smiles, cool treats, and warm hearts.

Happy Poson to all who celebrate! 🕯️

🚶‍♂️ Walking Together | Mission Monday 🌱

Through puddles, rain, and winding paths — we walk together.
At St. Vincent’s Home, each journey to school is more than a routine. It’s a step away from the past and a step toward healing, hope, and purpose.

These young boys, once broken by life’s storms, now walk side by side with mentors, guided by love, structure, and faith.
Every backpack carries not just books, but dreams.

Thank you for walking this mission with us. ❤️

🌟 Oblate Youth Encounter at St. Vincent’s Home 🌟

This weekend, St. Vincent’s Home was alive with joy, prayer, and purpose as we hosted a powerful Oblate Youth Encounter! 💙✨

Young people from across the region came together to celebrate faith, deepen friendships, and grow in the Oblate spirit of service. Through inspiring talks, group sharing, prayer moments, and joyful fellowship, we were reminded of our call to be missionaries of compassion and hope. 🕊️🔥

🙏 A special word of thanks to Jayawardena OMI, our dynamic Oblate Youth Director, for his leadership and inspiring presence. We are also deeply grateful to all the Oblate Fathers and Brothers who joined hands to make this encounter a grace-filled experience for everyone.

Let us continue to live out the spirit of St. Eugene de Mazenod:
"We must lead others to act like human beings, then like Christians, and finally, we must help them to become saints."

"Jesus said, 'If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.'" (John 14:23)

This , we reflect on Christ’s promise to dwell with those who love Him. At St. Vincent’s Home, we see this promise fulfilled every day—in the joy of the boys we serve, in the dignity of work, and in the hope born through care and learning. Jesus is at home here—guiding hands, healing hearts.

🙏 Honoring a Life of Faithful Service 🙏

Meet Bro. Thomas Fonseka, OMI – the oldest member of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Colombo Province, born on October 16, 1936. At 88 years old, he continues to be a quiet but powerful witness of love and dedication.

Bro. Thomas has spent his life serving in many parts of Sri Lanka and even in Pakistan. From Kandy to Polwatta, Wennappuwa to Wellawaya, and most especially Maggona, his journey has touched many hearts.

For many years, he cared for the boys at Susithodaya, the home for school-going children at St. Vincent’s Home, Maggona. With kindness, patience, and fatherly care, he helped shape the lives of hundreds of boys.

Today, Bro. Thomas lives peacefully at St. Vincent’s – the very place where he served so faithfully for many years. We are deeply grateful for his life, his vocation, and his witness. 💙

Thank you, Bro. Thomas, for being a blessing to all of us.

A moment of grace and guidance!

We throw it back to the inspiring visit of our Superior General, Fr. Luis Ignacio OMI, as he addressed our hardworking minor staff during his time in Sri Lanka. His words of encouragement reminded us that every role—big or small—matters deeply in our mission of love and service.

Thank you, Father, for being a light and strength to our St. Vincent’s Home family!
