Rotary Club of Jaffna Peninsula Launches Project "Mom & Kid" Phase 1 at Moolai Hospital.
In alignment with Rotary International’s Maternal & Child Health area of focus, and in consideration of World Breastfeeding Week falling in the first week of August, the Rotary Club of Jaffna Peninsula officially launched Phase 1 of Project "Mom & Kid."
As part of this initiative, we established a fully private and comfortable Breastfeeding Room at Moolai Hospital.
It was designed to provide mothers with a dignified space, the facility also functions as an educational center, offering health resources on early childhood nutrition and the benefits of breastfeeding, completed at a project cost of Rs. 112,500/-.
The facility was officially inaugurated by Rtn. Vanitha Sivaneson (District Co-chair for Maternal & Child Health). During this inauguration ceremony, Moolai Hospital Medical Director Dr. P.K. Navaratnarajah, Chief Matron Mr. S. Kiritharan, Treasurer Mr. A. Krishnamoorthy, and Board Member Mr. M. Gnanswaran—along with our Club President, Board of Directors, and hospital healthcare staff—were present.
With Phase 1 now complete, the facility is fully open to serve mothers and newborns across the region.
சர்வதேச றோட்டரி அமைப்பின் "தாய் - சேய் சுகாதாரம்" திட்டத்தின் ஒரு அங்கமாகவும், ஆகஸ்ட் முதலாம் வாரம் அனுஷ்டிக்கப்படும் உலக தாய்ப்பால் வாரத்தை முன்னிட்டும், யாழ்ப்பாண குடாநாடு றோட்டறி கழகம் தனது "அம்மா மற்றும் குழந்தை" (Mom & Kid) திட்டத்தின் முதற்கட்டத்தை உத்தியோகபூர்வமாக ஆரம்பித்து வைத்துள்ளது.
இத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ், மூளாய் வைத்தியசாலையில் தாய்ப்பால் ஊட்டுவதற்கென தனியான கண்ணியமான அறையொன்று அமைத்துக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தாய்ப்பால் ஊட்டுவதற்கான பிரத்தியேக இடமாக மட்டுமன்றி, ஆரம்பகால குழந்தை ஊட்டச்சத்து மற்றும் தாய்ப்பாலின் நன்மைகள் குறித்த சுகாதார வழிகாட்டல்களை வழங்கும் விழிப்புணர்வு மையமாகவும் செயல்படும் இந்த அறையானது ரூபா 112,500/- செலவில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இவ்வேலைத்திட்டம் தாய் - சேய் சுகாதார மாவட்ட இணை இணைப்பாளர் Rtn.PP வனிதா சிவநேசன் அவர்களால் உத்தியோகபூர்வமாக திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்நிகழ்வில் மூளாய் வைத்தியசாலையின் மருத்துவ பணிப்பாளர் Dr. P. K. நவரத்தினராஜா, தலைமை செவிலிய அதிகாரி திரு. எஸ். கிரிதரன், பொருளாளர் திரு. ஏ. கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி, நிர்வாக சபை உறுப்பினர் திரு. எம். ஞானஸ்வரன் மற்றும் எமது கழகத்தின் தலைவர் மற்றும் நிர்வாக சபை உறுப்பினர்கள், வைத்தியசாலை செவிலியர்கள் மற்றும் ஊழியர்கள் ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
முதற்கட்டம் வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவடைந்துள்ள நிலையில், இந்த வசதியானது பிராந்தியத்திலுள்ள தாயார்களும் புதிதாக பிறந்த குழந்தைகளும் பயன்பெறும் வகையில் தற்பொழுது உத்தியோகபூர்வமாக பயன்பாட்டிற்கு திறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
