Lions Club of Galle Galupura Central Installation Ceremony โ€“ Lionistic Year 2026/2027
The Lions Club of Galle Galupura Central successfully conducted its Installation Ceremony for the Lionistic Year 2026/2027 on 28th June 2026.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Past District Governor Lion Kapila Manamperi MJF, PMAF, PC as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his gracious lady, Lion Narmada.

During the formal proceedings, the outgoing President, Lion Thanuja Wijesinghe Senaviratna, ceremonially handed over the leadership of the club to the incoming President, Lion Pujitha Ranawaka, and the newly installed Board of Directors. In her farewell address, Lion Thanuja pledged her continued support to the club, expressing her confidence that the new leadership would guide Galle Galupura Central to even greater achievements and maintain its position as one of the leading clubs in Lions International District 306 D8 during the 2026/2027 Lionistic Year.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest PDG Lion Kapila Manamperi extended his best wishes to the incoming President and the new leadership team. He encouraged the club not only to strive for excellence but also to support and mentor fellow Lions clubs in raising their standards of service and leadership across the District.

The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished Lion leaders from Lions International District 306 D8, together with members of the Lions Club of Galle Galupura Central, making the installation a memorable celebration of leadership, fellowship, and service.

Our team, driven by compassion and positivity, worked closely with students from Grades 6 to 11, helping them understand that they are valued, important, and never alone. Through meaningful discussions, guidance, and encouragement, we sought to strengthen their emotional well-being and inspire them to believe in themselves and their potential.
It was a truly life-changing experience for both the students and our team. Witnessing young minds open up, gain confidence, and feel supported reminded us why community service matters so deeply.

We conducted the programme "๐Œ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐‡๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฒ ๐‡๐จ๐ฆ๐ž" for 160 parents of Grade 9 and 10 students. This group of parents was carefully identified following an extensive review and follow-up process involving students from Grades 6 to 13. The session focused on strengthening family relationships, improving communication, and creating supportive home environments for children.
