Richmond College Scout Group | Since July 26, 1915

Today, the Richmond College Scout Group proudly marks a milestone of monumental significance — 111 years of continuous dedication to the noble principles of scouting, leadership, and unwavering community service.

Since our founding on July 26, 1915, our troop has stood as a bastion of character building. For over a century, we have nurtured generations of young men, instilling in them the timeless values of discipline, courage, selflessness, and civic duty.

From a single spark of vision 111 years ago, our troop has grown into a cherished institution — one that has weathered the test of time, adapted through shifting eras, and emerged stronger with every passing decade. From the foundational days of pioneering, knot-tying, and wilderness navigation, to taking the lead in modern community development and service initiatives, Richmond Scouts have consistently answered the call to serve something greater than themselves.

Through every campfire lit, every challenge conquered, and every victory celebrated, we have faithfully upheld the true spirit of scouting: to be prepared, to lead with integrity, and to serve with purpose.

As we pause to reflect on this 111-year journey, we offer our deepest gratitude and highest respects to every scout, leader, mentor, teacher, and supporter who has laid a brick in this enduring legacy. Their dedication, sacrifice, and shared passion are the very pillars on which we stand today.

We now step into the future with renewed resolve — committed to empowering the next generation with the same timeless principles that defined our storied past. The scarf may pass from one generation to the next, but the spirit of brotherhood and service it carries will burn forever.

A DECADE OF ELEVATING STANDARDS: 2017 – 2026

Pioneering is more than just building structures from timber and rope—it’s a masterclass in leadership, discipline, and brotherhood.

For years, the 2nd Galle Richmond College Scout Group has carried forward the proud tradition of erecting massive, intricate pioneering towers for the Lovers’ Quarrel. From 2017 all the way to 2026, these towers have stood tall as symbols of Richmond Scout pride and excellence.

Salute to all the Junior Scouts, Senior Scouts, Rover Scouts and Old Scouts who put in their sweat, late nights, and passion to build these masterpieces year after year!

⚜️ Richmond Walk 2026⚜️

On 19th June 2026, Scout Leaders and Scouts of the 2nd Galle Richmond Scout Troop proudly participated in Richmond Walk 2026, an event commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Richmond College, Galle.

These moments capture the dedication, unity, and pride of Richmond Scouting as we joined fellow Richmondites in celebrating a legacy built over a century and a half.
