At GreaterGood’s Life & Skills Hub, gardening will be more than just growing plants. It will be an opportunity for young adults with autism and IDD to develop practical life skills, independence, responsibility, and healthy habits through meaningful, nature-based activities.

From planting and caring for vegetables to harvesting what they have grown, participants can experience the satisfaction of nurturing something from seed to harvest. 🌿🥕🍅

We believe that meaningful activities can open the door to learning, confidence, contribution, and greater independence.
One day, we hope to share the fruits and vegetables of their work with our wider community. 💚

Building Skills. Creating Opportunities. 💚
At GreaterGood’s Life & Skills Hub, young adults with autism and IDD will have opportunities to learn, participate and develop practical skills through meaningful activities.
Weaving is one of the hands-on activities we plan to offer,helping participants develop fine-motor coordination, concentration, following sequences, patience and independence, while creating something they can be proud of.

And the journey doesn’t stop at learning. 🌱
With a planned little shop at the centre, where products created by our young adults can be shared with and sold to the wider community.

Because we believe meaningful activities can become real opportunities for contribution, connection and independence.

Designed especially for young adults with Autism and Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, our day-centre will be a place where individuals can:

Building the longest sensory wall in the world, and we will be there too!😃

Every board tells a different story.

This is part of a Guinness Record to build the world’s longest sensory wall, at the largest national autism awareness event in Sri Lanka.

This board shows how I imagine the world feels for my child.
Everything can become overwhelming. It moves in every direction.

It may look chaotic, but I have tried to create calm within it.
Through textures, movement, and sensory elements, I try to give him moments of comfort, regulation, and understanding.

You may notice something missing.
Sound.
His sensitivity to sound is not shown. That absence is intentional.

This is not just art.
This is how my child experiences the world.

Many children with autism are identified late, not because the signs aren’t there but because still, many people don’t know them.
Early signs can appear in the first year of life.
When we recognize them early, we can support children earlier.
And early support can change life outcomes 💙
