In , the share of the population aged 60 and above is expected to reach one in four by 2042. Care poverty—a situation in which people who need care are lacking support—is an increasing concern, especially in poor, geographically isolated areas.

Sri Lanka can make its care systems more accessible for older people in isolated villages by
1️⃣ establishing more community-based and home-supported care services
2️⃣ considering geography in preparedness and social protection programs
3️⃣ providing allowances to unpaid caregivers, and
4️⃣ reducing vulnerability in old age through expanded coverage.

Collaborative Action Research Network - CARN in the United Kingdom
organized an Action Research Conference in collaboration with Dr. Godwin Kodithuwakku in Sri Lanka on the 8 th of May. The conference brought together around 90 researchers, with more than 60 research studies presented across diverse fields.

We are also pleased to share that, as a research initiative, we had the opportunity to present three research studies at this conference.

Our sincere thanks to Collaborative Action Research Network and Dr. Godwin Kodithuwakku for creating this valuable platform for collaborative learning, research exchange, and knowledge sharing.

පසුගිය මැයි 8නි දින, Collaborative Action Research Network විසින් ආචාර්ය ගොඩ්වින් කොඩිතුවක්කු මහතා සමඟ එක්ව ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ක්‍රියාකාරී පර්යේෂණ සමුළුවක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. එහිදී පර්යේෂකයන් 90කට ආසන්න පිරිසක් විසින් පර්යේෂණ 60කට වැඩි සංඛ්‍යාවක් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලදී.
අපගේ පර්යේෂණ මුලපිරීමක් ලෙස, අප විසින්ද පර්යේෂණ තුනක් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට හැකි වූ බව සතුටින් සඳහන් කරමු.
