On the 49th Death Anniversary of Professor Senaka Bibile we remember him, the visionary pioneer of Sri Lanka’s National Medicinal Drug Policy, whose lifelong commitment to rational drug use, equitable access to medicines, and health as a fundamental human right continues to inspire generations.

As Students Involved in Rational Health Activities (SIRHA), we honour his vision and renew our commitment to advocating for rational medicine use, accessible healthcare, and a health system that puts people before profit.

His vision lives on. His legacy is our responsibility.

SIRHA was 1st established by a group of 4 medical students who had been inspired by the ideas of Prof. Senaka Bibile.
Prof. Indika Karunathilake and Prof. Manuj Weerasinghe who are currently professors at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo were among these 4 trailblazers of SIRHA.
It's a great honour for us to continue what they initiated even after about 30 years for the well being of society and nation.😊🔥

Prof. Senaka William Bible, the pharmacologist, the doctor, the humanist, the educationist, the socialist, the aesthetician, was such a personality who had a vision ahead of his time. We shall never see his like again. But his ideas will be reverberated and implemented by those who were and will be influenced by him.
