We were pleased to meet Dr. Saliya, the Founder of Nature’s Wonders and Medicinal Garden Development Organization, at the Dalada Maligawa during his free medical camp for devotees participating in the Esala Perahera

Dr. Saliya’s remarkable dedication to promoting indigenous medicine and community well-being truly stood out. The organization not only provides herbal plants to several institutions but also conducts awareness sessions for the public on the importance of traditional healing practices. Moreover, they generously provide free indigenous medicine to villagers, ensuring that these valuable traditions continue to support rural health and sustainability. 🌿

Visited the office of Vikalpani National Women’s Federation and had a very fruitful and inspiring session with their team. During the visit, they shared insightful details about their impactful initiatives and strong dedication toward sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.

We were informed that Vikalpani maintains local seed varieties of many vegetables and fruits, promoting traditional and eco-friendly farming practices. They also conduct awareness sessions on pesticide toxicity and its consequences, empowering local communities to shift toward safer agricultural methods. In addition, they operate an Agricultural Education Centre, providing valuable learning opportunities for farmers and youth. 🌾
