A room full of readers, thoughtful conversation, and a Sunday evening well spent.

So grateful to everyone who joined our first book club discussion on Mother Mary Comes to Me by Arundhati Roy. Nearly 30 people joined us across physical and online sessions (special thanks to those who made it despite the fuel queues) to share perspectives and favourite moments from the book.

A special thank you to our facilitator, Neluka Silva, and our co-facilitator, Amanda Perera for guiding such a rich discussion, and to our venue partner, Miami Ad School for hosting us so warmly.

Phase 2: Thanks to our generous donors, 352 dignity packs- each containing 1 packet of sanitary pads, 2 pairs of underwear, 1 sheet of Panadol, and 1 packet of tissues- have been distributed to families in identified Hill Country locations.

In addition, relief efforts included 50 mattresses, 100+ packs of baby diapers, adult diapers, soap, medicine, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and boxes of women’s and men’s clothing.

This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Hill Country Women’s Development Association whose support ensured effective last mile delivery to affected communities.

In crises, menstrual health needs are often overlooked, even though the emphasises that they are essential for women’s dignity, safety, and wellbeing. Lack of proper supplies can increase stress, restrict mobility, and heighten vulnerabilities, including risks of domestic and gender-based violence.

By acknowledging the importance of menstrual health rights, our club aims to fill this gap in mainstream aid and support women and girls immediately and we will continue extending assistance to other affected areas based on need and resources.

Thanks to our generous donors, we have sent 321 hygiene and dignity packs to those affected by Cyclone Ditwah in Gampola ❤️‍🩹

Thank you for the kind donations of 220 pairs of women's underwear and 50 pairs of men's underwear from , and 200 pairs of women's underwear from , who made it possible for us to send 320 kits including Sanitary Pads, Panadol, and Facial Tissues to those in need.

Special thanks to and for stepping in to support the last-mile distribution in Gampola, and to Abbayan Vinodhan for connecting us with the vendors and helping us reach our goal.
