Urban Sketchers Colombo

We are 'Urban Sketchers Colombo', a community of sketchers who meet up & sketch on-location at interesting locations in our city. Join us.

All ages, any skill level welcome 👍

We follow the principles of http://www.urbansketchers.org/ Urban Sketchers (USk) is a global community of sketchers that practice drawing on location in the cities, towns and villages where they live and travel. Usk Manifesto

We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel. Our drawings are a record of time and place. We are truthful to the scenes we witness. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles. We support each other and draw together. We share our drawings online. We show the world, one drawing at a time. Join the Urban Sketchers Colombo Facebook group and follow on Instagram to hear about upcoming sketch-walks, make some new sketchy friends, and to share your on-location sketches. Sketch Walks

We aim to bring together a community of people who love to sketch. We meet every third Sunday of the month in and around Colombo to sketch on-location. At the end of the time, we re-group to share our work, tips and inspiration. It’s free for anyone to join and sketch in any medium. Admins:

"In helping our elders sketch, we weren't just drawing pictures—we were creating moments of joy, connection, and lasting memories."

💫💖 Our First-Ever Community Project At The Grace Perera Elders Home 💫💖

With the remainder of the grant funds, we planned and conducted a sketching workshop for residents at an elders' home. The workshop was held in small groups and was facilitated by some of our members who volunteered as instructors. Other members also spent time sketching within the spacious premises.

Urban Sketchers Colombo sponsored breakfast for the residents and provided all the necessary sketching materials, creating an enjoyable and engaging experience for everyone involved.
