A look back at our Sketch Meet and Chalk Mural Drawing together with Everystory Sri Lanka that took place at the Colombo Literary Festival that was held at the Arcade Independence Square on Saturday,July 25th 2026.

Our sketchers had a wonderful time at the event,as some took part in the chalk mural and also leisurely sketched at the venue.

We have been invited by Everystory Sri Lanka to take part in their chalk mural drawing at the Colombo Literary Festival this Saturday [Jul 25].
Our members have the option to take part in the mural drawing, or sketch the surroundings as usual.

Kindly note that a festival entry pass [Rs. 250] is required to enter the premises. It is free for students.

💫💖 Our First-Ever Community Project At The Grace Perera Elders Home 💫💖

With the remainder of the grant funds, we planned and conducted a sketching workshop for residents at an elders' home. The workshop was held in small groups and was facilitated by some of our members who volunteered as instructors. Other members also spent time sketching within the spacious premises.

Urban Sketchers Colombo sponsored breakfast for the residents and provided all the necessary sketching materials, creating an enjoyable and engaging experience for everyone involved.

Our first ever Community Project 💫💖

With the remainder of the Grant Funds, we have planned to hold a sketching workshop for residents at an elders' home. It will be a hands-on workshop in small groups, and we'll need about 12 of our members as instructors. Other members can sketch at their spacious premises.
We will be sponsoring their breakfast, and providing them sketching material.

This month, Urban Sketchers Colombo held a special sketch meet to celebrate International Urban Sketchers Week 2026!

We collaborated with and in the second event of the International Sketch Exchange Series.

The community of Urban Sketchers connected and sketched together at the Apé Gama | Battaramulla on 4th Sunday May 2026 .

For International Urban Sketchers Week 2026, we are collaborating with Usk Kandy and Usk Silocon Valley in this second event of the International Sketch Exchange Series.

More than drawing, it's about seeing the world through each other's eyes and creating a shared visual language that connects us all. This feels especially important in the world we're living in today.
