Please be informed that effective 3 November 2025, the Schengen Visa Appointment Management System for Germany will be moved from the German Embassy website to the VFS Global website.

Please note that IVS Lanka, the outsourcing service provider for the High Commission of India, Assistant High Commission in Kandy, and Consulate General in Jaffna, will be operational only until 31st October 2025.

🗓️ From 3rd November 2025, all visa, passport, and consular services will be handled directly by:
✅ High Commission of India – Colombo
✅ Assistant High Commission of India – Kandy
✅ Consulate General of India – Jaffna

Dear TAASL Members & Travel Trade Partners,

The Maldives Immigration Authorities have updated entry requirements for all foreign nationals arriving at Male (MLE) and Gan (GAN) airports.

All travelers must now complete the IMUGA Traveler Declaration prior to arrival. This new system replaces the previous immigration application and can be accessed online here:

Please note: Travelers who do not complete the declaration in advance may face:

⏳ Immigration Delays – due to weak airport internet connectivity

✈️ Missed Connections – affecting onward seaplane or speedboat transfers

⚖️ Regulatory Risks – non-compliance may affect relations with local authorities

🔄 Operational Impact – potential disruption to airport turnaround processes

We urge all travel partners to inform passengers about this mandatory requirement and ensure the IMUGA declaration is completed before departure.

The Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL) met with Mr. Hugh Sriyal Dissanayake, Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Philippines in Sri Lanka, to discuss key matters pertaining to visa facilitation and travel coordination.

The TAASL delegation comprised Mr. Sabry Bahaudeen, Mr. Shanaka Fernando, Mr. Riza Ahamed, Mr. Dishal De Silva, Mr. Romesh Samaranayake, and Dr. Duminda Kuruwitaarachchi. The team raised several important industry concerns while strengthening bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

As a follow-up to the discussion, TAASL will be organizing a training session for its members aimed at improving understanding and efficiency in visa-related processes.
