The SkillUp Sri Lanka – Modern Career Guidance and Skill Development Awareness Program was successfully held on 12th May 2026 at St. Benedict’s Convent, Colombo 13, engaging students who recently completed their O/L examinations as they prepared to transition into A/L studies.
The session empowered students to identify their strengths, align their passions with suitable A/L subject streams, and approach their academic journey strategically with a clear vision for their future careers. Special emphasis was placed on making informed decisions in line with the rapidly evolving, technology-driven global job market.
The program was conducted by Mr. Dian Baduge, Director of the Future Lanka Research & Development Foundation, who highlighted the importance of staying updated on global career trends, industry developments, and essential future-ready skills.
The session was further enriched by an esteemed panel of resource persons, including Mr. Krishnadeva Kesavan, Lecturer and Head of the Department of Cyber Security at APIIT, and Mr. Lahiru Karunarathna, Finance Director of Innovative X Labs (Pvt) Ltd. Through engaging discussions and real-world case studies, they provided students with valuable insights into emerging career opportunities across diverse sectors.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Rev. Father and dedicated teaching staff of St. Benedict’s Convent, Colombo 13, for their invaluable support in organizing this impactful session.
