Waste made of plastic can gather standing water, which could serve as a mosquito breeding ground. We can assist maintain a clean environment and lessen mosquito breeding by using less plastic and disposing of waste properly.🤝

As members of ZeroPlastic, let's transform our dedication into significant action for community health and environmental preservation.

Let's work together to minimise plastic, stop mosquitoes from multiplying, and build a more secure, healthy, and environmentally friendly future!

World Elephant Day, celebrated worldwide on the 12th of August, draws attention to the crucial importance of protecting elephants and their natural forest habitats.🍃✨

The gentle giants of the animal world are facing a bleak future due to insensitive actions of mankind. Dumping plastic waste and non biodegradable debris pollutes ecosystems that sustain these animals. At the ZeroPlastic Colombo Community, we recognise that safeguarding our nation's biodiversity goes hand in hand with acting against plastic pollution of ecosystems. World Lion Day 🦁

Today, on World Lion Day, we celebrate the majestic kings of the wild and reflect on their vital role in keeping our ecosystems balanced. Healthy natural habitats serve as the ultimate home where apex predators and countless other species thrive together in harmony. 🐾

However, this delicate balance is facing an urgent threat, plastic littering in our national parks and wildlife reserves. Synthetic pollution deeply harms fragile ecosystems, turning natural sanctuaries into hazardous traps that endanger the very wild animals we strive to protect. 🫂

As the Zeroplastic Colombo Community, we urge everyone to take a stand for wildlife protection and ecosystem preservation. Let's keep our parks plastic-free, safeguard our wildlife from synthetic waste, and ensure a cleaner, safer future for all natural life. 🌍🍃
