Observed on the 17th of October, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty highlights how social equity and ecological resilience are inseparably linked. Sustainable development emphasizes on the importance of safeguarding natural resources and ecosystems that vulnerable communities live by as a basic step in the endeavour of combatting poverty.🌎

Underprivileged populations are disproportionately impacted by environmental degradation, compromising their ability to access clean, safe water and a healthy environment.🍃 Responsibly distributing resources, reducing waste and maintaining green development practices simultaneously improve human life as well as nature.🫂

This is a reminder by the ZeroPlastic Colombo Community that sustainable development can only achieve maximum potential when all humans contribute and benefit equally. Let us unite for a cleaner and greener environment in which all life thrives!🤝

𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞.

Food is a basic human right, yet millions of people around the world continue to face hunger and food insecurity. World Food Day reminds us of the importance of ensuring that everyone has access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food.

🌱 At ZeroPlastic Colombo Community, we believe that creating a sustainable future begins with responsible food consumption, reducing food waste, supporting sustainable agriculture, and sharing food with those in need. Every small action we take can contribute to building a healthier planet and a hunger free world.

Let us work together to value every meal, reduce food waste, and protect our natural resources for future generations.🤝
