We are proud to share a meaningful contribution made towards supporting student welfare and development. BUDS has generously donated 7 units (14 beds) of bunk beds along with mattresses to the Hindu College Batticaloa hostel, helping to improve the living conditions and comfort of the students.

The ongoing hotel project has been funded by BUDS. Our special thanks to Mr. Kennedy Sabawthy (UK) the donor of this amazing gift.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to BUDS team UK and BT for their generosity and commitment to making a positive impact.

Batticaloa Underprivileged Development Society BUDS Donates Photocopy Machine to Pankudavelly Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School, Batticaloa

BUDS donated a photocopy machine to Pankudavelly RTMS in Batticaloa, marking an important contribution to support education and improve access to learning resources. The machine will assist teachers and school administration in preparing and distributing educational materials, examination papers, and other important documents more efficiently.

This valuable resource will not only benefit Pankudavelly RTMS but will also extend support to the wider educational community. The school has planned to assist five(05)nearby schools by providing printing and photocopying facilities for their educational materials. This initiative will help ensure that students and teachers in surrounding schools also gain better access to essential printed learning resources.

The donation highlights BUDS’ commitment to strengthening education and supporting schools with practical resources that enhance teaching and learning. By enabling the sharing of this facility with neighboring schools, the impact of the donation will reach a larger number of students and educators in this division.

The school administration and community have expressed their sincere appreciation to BUDS for this thoughtful contribution, which will significantly support daily school activities and collaborative educational efforts among nearby schools.

Donation of Infant Baby Warmer to Palukamam Hospital, Batticaloa Sri Lanka

Batticaloa Underprivileged Development Society BUDS proudly donated an infant baby warmer to Palukamam Hospital with the generous support of donor Mr. Nesan Markandu(UK). This essential medical equipment will help healthcare staff provide better care for newborn babies, particularly those who require additional warmth and monitoring immediately after birth.

The infant baby warmer plays a vital role in maintaining the body temperature of newborns, which is critical for their health and survival during the first hours and days of life. With this donation, Palukamam Hospital will be better equipped to support safe deliveries and improve neonatal care for families in the community.

BUDS extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Markandu for his kind contribution and commitment to improving healthcare services. His generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many newborns and their families.

BUDS 24.02.2026 -
Today marks a meaningful milestone for the Batticaloa Underprivileged Development Society as we proudly donated a Baby Warmer worth Rs. 1,580,000 to Palukamam Hospital.
The equipment was officially handed over to the Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS) and will be installed at the relevant hospital in the coming days.
This donation reflects our continued commitment to improving maternal and newborn healthcare services in our community. We believe this baby warmer will play a vital role in saving and protecting the lives of newborns who need special care.
We extend our sincere thanks to BUDS UK team and our donor Mr.Nesan Markandu (UK), who supported and contributed to making this initiative a success. Together, we are making a difference. DONATION OF MATERNITY KITS
We are proud to share that BUDS Batticaloa donated maternity kits worth Rs. 335,000 to the Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS), Batticaloa, for distribution among needy mothers in MOH divisions across the district.

A total of 50 maternity kits were handed over to support and uplift expectant mothers in our community.

The donation was officially handed over in the presence of Dr. R.Muraleeswaran, Director of RDHS Batticaloa, and Mr.I.J.Sylvester, President of BUDS Batticaloa.

We remain committed to serving our community and supporting those in need.
