Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) play a big role in protecting the environment especially at the grassroots level. They help communities work together, care for natural resources, and find local solutions to environmental challenges.

In line with World Environment Day, we celebrate the commitment of community groups and local changemakers working for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future. At the grassroots level, their leadership is essential in turning environmental awareness into meaningful, local action.

What stories shape the way we understand the world around us? And whose stories are still waiting to be heard?

Organized by Chrysalis, Third Act is a short film festival that brings together diverse perspectives and lived experiences of women across Sri Lanka. Through storytelling, the festival explores themes of identity, gender, care work, economic realities, climate impact, inclusion, and the everyday moments that often go unseen.

Each film offers a window into experiences that challenge assumptions, spark conversation, and invite us to look beyond what we think we know.

Join us as we explore the unspoken, the overlooked, and the stories that deserve to be heard. Because understanding begins with listening.
