SED Trust together with the Fostering Resilience, Restoring Smiles team in collaboration with the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) – Anuradhapura and the District Secretary Office – Anuradhapura, successfully conducted a Psychosocial Support 3rd Program for children and adults affected by the cyclone disaster in the Galnewa Division, Anuradhapura.

This program aimed to support emotional healing, reduce stress, and strengthen resilience among individuals and families impacted by the disaster. Through interactive activities and guided support sessions, participants were encouraged to express their experiences, rebuild confidence, and regain a sense of safety and hope.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all our partners, facilitators, and volunteers who contributed to making this initiative meaningful. Together, we remain committed to protecting mental well-being and supporting recovery for disaster-affected communities.

We are proud to share that SED Trust, together with the Fostering Resilience, Restoring Smiles team, in collaboration with the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) – Anuradhapura, successfully conducted the 3rd Psychosocial Support Program for children and parents affected by the cyclone disaster in Rajanganaya, Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. 💚

This program focused on emotional healing, strengthening family bonds, and building resilience among children and parents who continue to face the psychological impact of the disaster. Through guided activities and supportive discussions, we aimed to restore hope, confidence, and a sense of safety within the community.

We sincerely appreciate the dedication of our partners, facilitators, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this initiative meaningful and impactful. We are pleased to share that SED Trust, in collaboration with the Provincial Education Department – North Central Province, successfully conducted a Psychosocial Support First Aid Training program for school teachers and selected government officers in Anuradhapura.

This important training equips educators and officers with the skills to identify, support, and guide children affected by recent disasters, helping them regain emotional stability and confidence.

Once schools reopen, these trained teachers will play a vital role in supporting affected children, helping them rebuild their mental well-being, resilience, and sense of security.

SED Trust, together with Fostering Resilience and Restoring Smiles, successfully conducted a Psychosocial Support Program for children affected by the recent disaster in the Anuradhapura District.

This important initiative was carried out in collaboration with the National Child Protection Authority and the District Secretariat Office, Anuradhapura. We are grateful to Additional District Secretary, Mr. Deepal Nishantha Sirimanna, for his participation and support throughout the program.

👕🍚 Providing Clothes and Dry Foods to Flood-Affected Communities

Due to the ongoing emergency situation, SED Trust, together with the District NGO Coordinator Mr. Sumit Ratnayake (Anuradhapura) and supported by the Trincomalee Sahana Youth Group, provided essential clothes and dry food items to community centers sheltering affected families.

These supplies were distributed to help individuals who lost their belongings and are currently staying in temporary centers until their homes are safe to return to. Our aim is to bring comfort, dignity, and immediate relief to those facing hardship.

SED Trust, together with the generous collaboration of the Trincomalee Sahana Youth Group, provided essential sanitary and cleaning items to the District Secretary Office – Anuradhapura. These items will support the cleaning of affected houses, schools, and community centers after the recent disaster.

SED Trust, with the generous support of the Trincomalee Sahana Youth Group, extended humanitarian assistance to rural communities affected by the recent floods in Anuradhapura District, Sri Lanka. Dry food packs were provided to 60 individuals in Herathhamillewa, Olugaskada, and Kahatagollewa.
