On Global , Dr. Jackie Kassouf Maalouf, President of and Vice President of the International Diabetes Federation, joined an international expert panel discussing steatotic (fatty) liver disease, the most common chronic liver condition worldwide. The webinar highlighted major developments in the field, including advances in diagnosis, treatment, policy, and the growing recognition of the links between , , , disease, and other non-communicable diseases ( ).

A key focus of the discussion was the recent adoption of the World Health Assembly Resolution on liver disease, a historic milestone that recognizes steatotic liver disease as a major global metabolic health challenge. As Dr. Maalouf emphasized, the resolution marks a critical starting point, with its success depending on stronger awareness, early detection, equitable access to care, and integrated systems that address metabolic health holistically.

A long-standing supporter of Global Liver Institute's Global Fatty Liver Day campaign, DiaLeb remains committed to raising awareness of the connection between diabetes and health and advancing people-centered approaches to , , and care.
