Sometimes, the hospital becomes more than just a place for treatment… it becomes a second home. 🏥💔

For many children and families battling cancer, long days turn into weeks and months spent between hospital walls. Tiny clothes drying by the bedside, favorite blankets, bedtime routines away from home — all reminders of the difficult journey they face every day.

At CHANCE Association, we continue to stand beside these brave children and their families, helping bring comfort, care, and hope during the hardest moments. 🎗️✨

Hope, innovation, and dignity in childhood cancer care. 💙🎗️

Under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, CHANCE Association, led by Prof. Roula Farah, proudly concluded its national project on advancing pediatric pain, psycho-oncology, and palliative care.

We were honored to welcome Prof. Julia Downing, Executive Director of the International Children’s Palliative Care Network () whose powerful address on equity in children’s palliative care reminded us all: access to compassionate care is not a privilege, it’s a right.

A special thank you to Foundation Charles Corm () for making this event possible. And heartfelt thank you to our incredible Psycho-Oncology team, whose relentless dedication made this entire project possible. 🙏

And a special moment that moved every heart in the room, our brave Talia Bou Saba, cancer survivor and living proof of resilience, presented symbolic colourful flowers to Minister Nassereddine, Prof. Farah and Prof. Downing. A reminder of exactly why we do this work. 🌟

The day also brought together 200+ physicians and specialists from hospitals across Lebanon for the 2nd Neonatal & Pediatric Palliative Care Symposium, a milestone moment for our field.

Together, we’re building a future where no child suffers alone. 💙

In times of uncertainty and conflict, moments of joy matter more than ever 💛

This International Childhood Cancer Day, our brave CHANCE children stepped away from hospital rooms and into a world of color, creativity, and imagination with artist Tom Young. 🎨✨ In the midst of the ongoing challenges in Lebanon, these moments become a powerful reminder: every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and free.

Through art, they expressed their emotions, found comfort, and created happiness together — proving that even in difficult times, creativity can be a form of healing.

Let’s continue to stand by these children, ensuring they receive not only treatment, but also the care, support, and joy they deserve.

Special thanks to and Sarah Chahine for volunteering!

On February 17, CHANCE Association had the pleasure of hosting a special event at Hôtel-Dieu de France Hospital in collaboration with the Pediatric Department🤍

Dr. Roula Farah, CHANCE President, presented an informative conference on recent approaches to pediatric pain management, highlighting pediatric pain scales and innovative ways to reduce pain and anxiety in children before medical procedures.

A key moment of the afternoon was the official offering by the CHANCE team of a Virtual Reality device to the hospital, a meaningful step toward improving the hospital experience for children and helping them feel safer and more at ease.

The event also included a hands-on training in collaboration with the team of Xrapy and its CEO Mr Fouad Mounzer, on the use of Virtual Reality in pediatrics for pain and anxiety reduction, bringing together healthcare professionals committed to compassionate, child-centered care.

We were honored by the presence of Mr. Nassib Nasr, General Manager of Hôtel-Dieu de France, and Dr. Georges Dabar, Director of Medical Affairs at Hôtel-Dieu de France, along with Dr Raymond Mikhael head of the pediatric department, whose support reflects a strong institutional commitment to advancing innovative and compassionate care for children.

Together, one hospital after the other, we continue working to transform care and support children in Lebanon every step of the way. 💛

On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, celebrated each year on February 15, the president of CHANCE Association, Dr. Roula Farah, paid an official visit to the Minister of Health, Dr. Rakan Nassereddine. She was accompanied by Dr. Leila Akoury Dirani, past president of the Lebanese Order of Psychologists, CHANCE board member Mr. Rachid Moussallem, psychologists, and most importantly, children fighting cancer and their parents. 🎗️

The meeting provided an important space to reflect on the realities faced by children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Dr. Farah thanked the minister for his tireless efforts in securing essential medications and highlighted the gaps that still exist, especially in immunotherapy and targeted therapy.

She presented CHANCE’s ongoing projects, emphasizing the critical role of psychosocial support, family-centered care, and sustained advocacy to improve access to comprehensive treatment services. Discussions also explored opportunities for deeper collaboration with the Ministry to strengthen mental health support within hospitals and ensure that care addresses not only medical needs, but emotional and social well-being as well. 💛

The minister was deeply touched by hearing directly from families and children about their needs and struggles, as well as the vital role CHANCE has played in their journey toward recovery.

This encounter underscored that every child deserves quality treatment delivered with dignity and compassion, and that strong partnerships between civil society and public institutions are essential to creating lasting impact. Together, the shared commitment remains clear: no child and no family should face cancer alone. 🤝✨
