Due to the current situation in Lebanon, we ASLIB have decided to postpone the Best Sommelier of Lebanon competition to a later date. However, in March ASLIB will still conduct a selection process for ASI Best Sommelier of the World in Lisbon, using the candidates who have already registered for the Best Sommelier of Lebanon competition.

The Association des Sommeliers du Liban (ASL) is preparing to host the next edition of the Best Sommelier of Lebanon competition this March.

As a proud member of the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale, ASL continues to elevate professional standards and celebrate excellence in Lebanese sommellerie.

🍷 Sommelier Training in Lebanon – March 23–27, 2026 🇱🇧

Sommelier Academy, in collaboration with ASLIB, is coming to Lebanon for an exclusive 5-day on-site sommelier training at Annahar!

✨ Open to everyone
⏰ 5 hours per day (including lunch break)
📚 Course materials included
📝 Examination after each block

The program combines theory and hands-on practice with a strong focus on professional application.

After Level 1, participants move on to Level 2, which includes:

💻 Up to 5months of online studies (at your own pace)
🍷 5 additional on-site days:
• Global Beverage Certificate (1 day – preferably completed online beforehand)
• Practical Professional Sommelier Course (3 days)
• International Wine Diploma recap + tastings (1–2 days)

👨‍🏫 Extra Support:
Joseph will be available online once per week (10:00–16:00) for one-hour individual guidance sessions.

The competition is open to all sommeliers working professionally in the field of sommellerie.

To be eligible to participate, candidates must be members of ASLIB and have paid their membership fee.

📣 Get ready! The ASI Sommelier Diploma Exam is coming

🗓 March 9, 2026 | 🌍 Held globally by ASI member associations

The ASI Diploma celebrates sommeliers who demonstrate deep knowledge of wine & gastronomy, outstanding service skills, confidence, style, and professionalism — elevating our craft into an art form. 🍷✨

The exam includes:
📚 A theory questionnaire on classical & traditional wine knowledge
✍️ An essay to express your professional voice
🥂 Blind tastings
🍽 Practical service tests testing skill, calm, and reaction

🌐 Take the exam in French, English, or Spanish — and if you sit it in a foreign language, you receive a 10% bonus!

🏅 Minimum scores to achieve:
Bronze – 60% | Silver – 65% | Gold – 75%

🔁 Plus: Past Bronze holders (2019–2023) can retake the exam for free to aim for Silver or Gold until 2027!
