UN Global Compact Network Lebanon through the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption

The United Nations Global Compact Network Lebanon is one of the 60+ Local Networks around the world that operate through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Global Compact HQ. We are an independent and self-managed entity with the unique mandate to provide direct support to UN Global Compact participants based in Lebanon and provide them with opportunities for learni

ng, capacity building, awareness raising, policy dialogue, and partnerships on the Ten Principles of responsible conduct and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We help entities build a strong understanding of responsible business and activity within our national context and put their sustainability commitments into action as well as facilitate local connections with other stakeholders from businesses, NGOs, government, and academia.

Following the Peer Learning Group on Gender Equality and as part of our continuous efforts to advance gender-inclusive workplaces, the UN Global Compact Network Lebanon invited its business participants on Thursday, 30 October 2025 to a specialized training on “The Law on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace and Related Policies,” organized by the National Commission for Lebanese Women NCLW in collaboration with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and funded by the UK’s Foreign, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

The workshop offered practical and legal insights to help companies establish effective mechanisms for prevention, response, and complaint management, a key step toward fostering safer, more inclusive, and gender-responsive workplaces across Lebanon.

Together, we continue advancing gender equality through knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and collective action.

Here’s a quick look back at the moments and voices that shaped it. 🌿
The Peer Learning Group on Just Transition brought together leaders from business, government, and academia to explore how Lebanon can advance a fair and climate-resilient transition.

Organized by the UN Global Compact Network Lebanon, with the support of IPT Group Holding and in collaboration with AUB, the dialogue laid the groundwork for a national Just Transition roadmap and stronger cross-sector collaboration ahead.
