في سياق استكمال تفعيل عمل المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والبيئي بعد تشكيله الجديد، شهد تاريخ 20 نيسان 2026 محطة تنظيمية بارزة تمثّلت في إجراء انتخابات اللجان المتخصصة، التي تُعدّ الركيزة الأساسية لعمل المجلس ومتابعة ملفاته القطاعية.
وفي هذا الإطار، تمّ انتخاب وديع يوسف كنعان رئيساً للجنة السياحة، في خطوة تعكس الثقة بخبرته الطويلة في القطاع السياحي ودوره في تمثيل مصالحه ضمن مقاربة وطنية شاملة. كما جرى إنتخاب خالد نزهة مقرّراً للجنة، بما يساهم في تعزيز فعالية العمل التنسيقي وإعداد التوصيات ورفعها إلى الهيئة العامة.
وضمّت عضوية لجنة السياحة كلاً من: بشارة الأسمر، مارك عون، إميلي ناصر، جهاد شاهين، شربل يونان، وهيلين شقير، وهي تركيبة تجمع بين الخبرات النقابية والاقتصادية والتقنية، ما يعزّز من قدرة اللجنة على مقاربة القضايا السياحية من زوايا متعددة، لا سيما في ظل التحديات التي يواجهها هذا القطاع الحيوي.
وتُشكّل هذه الانتخابات خطوة أساسية في مسار إطلاق العمل الفعلي للمجلس، حيث يُنتظر من اللجان المتخصصة أن تضطلع بدور محوري في دراسة الملفات القطاعية، واقتراح السياسات والإصلاحات اللازمة، بما يواكب أولويات المرحلة ويعزّز مساهمة المجلس في دعم التعافي الاقتصادي، لا سيما في قطاع السياحة الذي يُعدّ من أبرز ركائز الاقتصاد الوطني.
As part of completing the activation of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council following its new formation, April 20, 2026 marked a significant organizational milestone with the holding of elections for the specialized committees, which constitute the core pillar of the Council’s work and the follow-up on its sectoral files.
In this context, Wadih Youssef Kanaan was elected President of the Tourism Committee, reflecting confidence in his extensive experience in the tourism sector and his role in representing its interests within a comprehensive national approach. Khaled Nazha was also elected as Rapporteur of the Committee, contributing to enhancing coordination efficiency, drafting recommendations, and submitting them to the General Assembly.
The Tourism Committee members include Bechara Al Asmar, Marc Aoun, Emilie Nassar, Jihad Chahine, Charbel Younan and Helene Choucair. This composition brings together trade union, economic, and technical expertise, strengthening the Committee’s ability to address tourism-related issues from multiple perspectives, particularly in light of the challenges facing this vital sector.
These elections represent a key step in launching the Council’s effective work, as the specialized committees are expected to play a central role in examining sectoral issues and proposing the necessary policies and reforms, in line with current priorities and in support of economic recovery—especially in the tourism sector, which is considered one of the main pillars of the national economy.
