A delegation from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) visited the Foundoukiyeh Collective Shelter, where Caritas Lebanon is implementing Sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services supported by UNFPA

The delegation included Andrew Saberton, Deputy Executive Director (DED-M); Anandita Philipose, UNFPA Representative in Lebanon; Pamela DiCamillo, Head of Program; and Hiba KchourGBV-SRH Integration Analyst.

The visit was attended by Judge Mireille Haddad, Vice President of Caritas Lebanon, along with Cindy Hakme, Head of Health, and the medical team

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on ongoing SRH services and activities implemented by Caritas Lebanon with UNFPA support, highlighting joint efforts to ensure continued access to essential reproductive health care for vulnerable populations residing in the shelter.

Caritas Lebanon extends its sincere appreciation to UNFPA for their continuous support and partnership in strengthening essential health services for affected communities.

Building on the success of the PIONEER pilot project, Caritas Lebanon, in partnership with Swisscontact, scaled up a student-led school rehabilitation model to “Dekwaneh technical school”.
The project will engage approximately 20-25 students aged 14-20 from diverse social, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
In addition to technical renovation training (sanitary, electricity, painting, etc.), the project includes structured peacebuilding sessions to strengthen dialogue, empathy, and nonviolent communication among students.
The initiative combines participatory renovation activities with structured peacebuilding interventions, empowering students to actively rehabilitate their learning environment.
The project promotes:
• Youth leadership and ownership
• Psychosocial recovery in post-conflict settings
• Gender-inclusive participation
• Community cohesion through collaborative engagement
Swisscontact
انطلاقًا من نجاح مشروع PIONEER التجريبي، أطلقت رابطة كاريتاس لبنان، بالشراكة مع Swisscontact، نموذج إعادة تأهيل المدارس بقيادة الطلاب ليشمل المدرسة المهنية في الدكوانة.
يشارك في المشروع ما يقارب 20-25 طالبًا تتراوح أعمارهم بين 14 و20 عامًا من خلفيات اجتماعية ودينية واقتصادية متنوعة. بالإضافة إلى التدريب على التجديد الفني (الصرف الصحي، والكهرباء، والدهان، إلخ)، يتضمن المشروع جلسات بناء سلام منظمة لتعزيز الحوار والتعاطف والتواصل السلمي بين الطلاب.
تجمع هذه المبادرة بين أنشطة التجديد التشاركية وتدخلات بناء السلام المنظمة، مما يمكّن الطلاب من إعادة تأهيل بيئتهم التعليمية بشكل فعّال.

• قيادة الشباب وشعورهم بالملكية
• التعافي النفسي والاجتماعي في مرحلة ما بعد النزاع
• المشاركة الشاملة للجنسين

نظّمت رابطة كاريتاس لبنان، بالشراكة مع شركة Novo Nordisk، سلسلة الأيام الطبية المجانية للكشف عن مرض السكري، والتي أُقيمت في المناطق التالية:

📍 حوش حالا – زحلة

📍 ريفون

📍 صور

📍 عرمون – عاليه

📍 مكسه

وقد تضمّنت الأنشطة:

🔹 جلسات توعية حول داء السكري

🔹 فحوصات السكّر في الدم بعد الصيام

🔹 فحوصات مخزون السكري (HbA1c)

🔹 تغطية تكاليف الفحوصات المخبرية عند اللزوم

كما تخلّلت الأيام الطبية معاينات صحية، وفحوصات طبية، إضافةً إلى توزيع أدوية للمحتاجين، بمشاركة فريق كاريتاس والعاملين الصحيين والمتطوعين الذين واكبوا أبناء المنطقة واهتمّوا بخدمتهم.

وخلال أحد الأيام الطبية، تم تكريم رابطة كاريتاس لبنان تقديرًا لجهودها الإنسانية والصحية المستمرة في خدمة المجتمعات الأكثر حاجة.

وقد بلغ عدد المستفيدين خلال شهر أيار وحتى تاريخه حوالي 348 مستفيدًا.

في إطار جهودها المتواصلة لدعم المجتمعات المتضرّرة جرّاء الأعمال العدائية، استقبلت رابطة كاريتاس لبنان يوم الخميس ٧ أيار وفداً من الصندوق الإنساني للبنان (LHF)إلى جانب وفد دبلوماسي من المملكة المتحدة وأستراليا، في مركز الإيواء في الفندقية -الدكوانة، حيث اطّلعوا على الخدمات الصحية المقدَّمة للنازحين.

وتشمل هذه الخدمات اليومية:
🩺 استشارات طبية
🔬 فحوصات مخبرية
💊 أدوية مجانية
🤝 دعم نفسي واجتماعي
🏥 رعاية صحية أولية شاملة

وتلعب كاريتاس لبنان دوراً محورياً في هذا المركز بوصفها الشريك الصحي المعتمد، والشريك التنفيذي الرسمي لوزارة الصحة العامة في لبنان، حيث تحظى بثقة المنظمات الدولية لقيادة الاستجابة الصحية في مراكز الإيواء على امتداد الأراضي اللبنانية.

وشكّلت هذه الزيارة فرصةً ثمينة لإيصال أصوات النازحين مباشرةً إلى الممثلين الدبلوماسيين.

ونتوجّه بالشكر الجزيل إلى الوفد الزائر وإلى الصندوق الإنساني للبنان (LHF) على دعمهم.
معاً، نعمل على ضمان حصول كل إنسان على الرعاية الصحية التي يستحقها.

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting war-affected communities, Caritas Lebanon welcomed on May 7th, a delegation from the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) alongside diplomatic representatives from the United Kingdom and Australia, at the Hotel Technical Institute-Dekwaneh shelter center, where they were briefed on the healthcare services provided to displaced families.

These daily services include:

🤝 Psychosocial & social support
🏥 Comprehensive primary healthcare

As the certified health partner and official implementing partner of Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health, Caritas Lebanon is trusted by international organizations to lead health responses in shelter centers across the country.

The visit offered a meaningful opportunity to bring the voices of displaced persons directly to diplomatic representatives.

قافلة إنسانية لرابطة كاريتاس لبنان الى بلدات الجنوب رغم كل الصعوبات الميدانية
في خطوة تجسّد معنى التضامن الحقيقي، نجحت رابطة كاريتاس لبنان يرافقها ممثل البطريرك الماروني، المطران شربل عبدالله، والأب سمير غاوي رئيس رابطة كاريتاس لبنان والأب يعقوب تومازويسكي سكرتير السفير البابوي في إيصال قافلة إنسانية مؤلفة من 30 شاحنة محمّلة بالمواد الغذائية والمستلزمات الحياتية الأساسية، إلى بلدات عين إبل ودبل ورميش الحدودية. كما شارك في هذه المبادرة رابطة الروتاري لبنان، والمؤسسة البطريركية المارونية العالمية للإنماء الشامل، تجسيداً فعلياً لروح التضامن الوطني والإنساني.
استغرقت الرحلة يومين كاملين ذهاباً وإياباً، في ظل ظروف ميدانية بالغة الصعوبة، غير أن الإصرار على الوصول كان أقوى من كل العقبات.
وتشكّل هذه القوافل اليوم السبيل الوحيد الذي يصل أهالي هذه البلدات بضرورات الحياة الكريمة، في ظل انعدام سبل الإمداد الاعتيادية. ويقدّم سكان عين إبل ودبل ورميش بتمسّكهم بأرضهم نموذجاً استثنائياً من الشجاعة والصمود، تلتزم كاريتاس لبنان بمؤازرتهم فيه بكل ما يتاح لها من إمكانيات.

*A Humanitarian Convoy by Caritas Lebanon Reaches Southern Villages Against All Odds.*
In a powerful act of solidarity, Caritas Lebanon, accompanied by the representative of the Maronite Patriarch, Bishop Charbel Abdallah, Father Samir Ghaoui, President of Caritas Lebanon, and Father Jacob Tomazewski, Secretary of the Apostolic Nuncio successfully delivered a humanitarian convoy of 30 trucks loaded with essential supplies to the border villages of Ain Ebel, Debl, and Rmeish. Also joining this initiative were the Rotary Lebanon and the World Maronite Patriarchal Foundation for Comprehensive Development, in a true embodiment of national and humanitarian solidarity.
The journey took two full days, under extremely difficult field conditions, yet the determination to reach these communities proved stronger than every obstacle.
These convoys are today the only lifeline connecting the residents of these villages to basic necessities, as all regular supply routes remain unavailable. The people of Ain Ebel, Debl, and Rmeish, by holding steadfast to their land stand as an exceptional example of courage and resilience. Caritas Lebanon is committed to standing by them with every resource available.
