Refugee Aid - MyBookshelf Project

Refugee Aid - MyBookshelf Project Refugee Aid was an AIESEC powered project that focused providing literacy and psychosocial support to Syrian refugee kids in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.

(Different versions of this project ran each year from 2014 to 2017.) For its 4th year in a row, a group of 28 international and local students and graduates from 8 different countries are collaborating with AIESEC Lebanon and Sonbola NGO for a social impact project aiming to provide a Language and Cultural informal education program for more than
120 refugee kids between the ages of 7 and 14. The

project is supported by the United Nations Information Center in Beirut. The project contributes to achieving targets of Sustainable Development Goal #4: Quality Education and #16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and that is through working on enhancing the kids' English language fluency through cross-contextual cultural learning activities as Geography, Music, Cuisine, Theatre, Sports and language practice exercises. Such activities are combined with psychosocial support efforts in addition to raising awareness and
advocating on social media. The volunteers have received training from experts in fields of psychosocial support, language education, and sustainable development including representatives from the UN-ESCWA and the UNHCR.
