Providing Emotional & Psychological Healing to Syrian Refugees Through Art Therapy

Duma, Syria, endured years of siege, bombardment, and some of the deadliest chemical attacks in Syria - including the April 2018 attack that killed dozens of civilians and left hundreds struggling to breathe under siege. Yet today, in the same city once defined by destruction, in our small workshop, women are gathering to reclaim their future through our psychosocial sessions that entwine handicraft work and 101 of entrepreneurship.
Empowering women means rebuilding families, restoring dignity, and proving that even after unimaginable violence, creativity and hope can survive.
Thank you to our lead psychologist & project coordinator for leading the way in her home country of Syria.

The ongoing war might cut out the electricity in our center in Kharkiv, Ukraine; but we continue to keep the light on from within our hearts & minds - through art, music & games. Our very own light, flame & warmth will guide the way - always. 🕯️🔥💫

Since the start of the war in Lebanon, 2,900 people have been killed by IS strikes, including 189 children, and over 1.2M people displaced - some for the second or third time.
But at & in partnership with our long time partners - we’re continuing to bring a sense of joy, normalcy & hope through theater, music & art for some of the most heavily hit communities in Lebanon.
At ART OF HOPE - we care about all wounds, but mostly the invisible wounds of war, loss & displacement, because we know that the trauma, pain, & psychological impact of conflict, if not healed, will last for the generations to come. ❤️‍🩹

From drawing and painting together to crafting colorful paper bouquets and exploring new artistic techniques, these activities give children a safe space to express themselves, build confidence, and connect with one another through creativity.
Every shared smile, song, and artwork is a reminder of the healing power of community and self-expression.

Snapshots from a recent session in Lebanon 🤍 Our team spent time with internally displaced Syrian children, creating a safe space to explore emotions, learn simple breathing techniques, and build tools to cope. Alongside the learning, there was laughter, face painting, and dancing because healing also happens through joy.

ART OF HOPE EMERGENCY RELIEF TASK FORCE FOR LEBANON 🚨🎗️❤️‍🩹 DONATE TODAY

As done in the past & in times of crisis - is once again gathering support to address the emergency needs of our team members in Lebanon. With over 700,000 people currently displaced across the country, we are working with our long-time local partners (Lebanese Youth Network) in Deir Al Ahmar, in the Beqaa, where approximately 1,200 displaced people are now staying in four makeshift shelters.
Our emergency task force will address the most urgent needs of these families on the ground:

•⁠ ⁠Fuel for heating : to keep the shelters warm during the cold nights in the Beqaa Valley
•⁠ ⁠Medicine, female hygiene kits, and baby formula : for families who currently have limited funds/access to essential supplies
•⁠ ⁠Recreational and psychosocial support (PSS) activities for children : Supporting children currently in shelters cope with their shock/trauma through safe play, art, and structured activities

Even small contributions can make a meaningful difference in helping these families through an extremely difficult time.
