Act for the Disappeared

Act for the Disappeared Lebanese Human Rights association whose mission is to promote the right to know the fate of thousands of persons who disappeared in Lebanon.

The founding members ACT FOR THE DISAPPEARED are a group of independent activists unaffiliated with any political parties. The movement was launched during the two-day event held on the occasion of the International Day for the Disappeared on September 3 and 4, 2010. The mission of the NGO is to engage Lebanon’s youth and larger segments of society in efforts to address Lebanon’s past legacy of en

forced disappearances and find a meaningful and sustainable solution to the issue of those who disappeared in the country since 1975. The mobilization continues to attract concerned individuals and associations with the hope of working together to find a meaningful and sustainable solution to the issue. في ظل الحرب الراهنة في لبنان، نظّمت ACT جلسات دعم نفسي اجتماعي للنساء النازحات في طرابلس والبقاع، بدعم من السفارة النمساوية.
ومن خلال مساحات الصمود، اجتمعت النساء في بيئة آمنة للتعبير والتواصل والدعم المتبادل، بالتوازي مع توزيع مستلزمات أساسية لتلبية احتياجاتهم.

In response to the ongoing war in Lebanon, ACT organized psychosocial support sessions for displaced women in Tripoli and Bekaa, with the support of the Austrian Embassy. Through “Circles of Sumod,” women gathered in safe spaces to share, connect, and support one another alongside receiving dignity kits to meet urgent needs.
