The Agri-food Fulcrum Association for Development - AFAD is pleased to announce the successful completion of awareness phase at schools under the project, funded by , within the program funded by the European Union.

As part of this project, our Project team organized a training day based on learning through play for school students in Fakiha Village. Over 150 students from private schools participated in this activity, and we would like to thank them for their cooperation in achieving the goals of this activity. The participating schools included:
Ecole Episcopale-Jdeide Prescolaire
Al Maymouna Education - الميمونة للتربية
مدرسة الزيتونة_Zaitouna School
مدرسة المقاصد - جديدة الفاكهة
The objectives of this activity were to raise awareness among the students about the importance of:
Water conservation
Protection from pollution
Waste sorting
Rationalization of water consumption, especially in light of .

We hope that this activity has contributed to promoting sustainable practices among the young generation and inspiring them to take action towards a more environmentally-friendly future.

تستكمل جمعية الارتكاز الزراعي-الغذائي للتنمية تنفيذ مشروع #أروي الممول من lebanon ضمن برنامج حوكماء الممول من الاتحاد الأوروبي. عبر استكمال مرحلة التوعية.
ضمن هذا المشروع، قام فريق العمل بتنفيذ يوم تدريبي لطلاب المدارس قائم على مبدأ التعلم من خلال اللعب في المدارس الخاصة في بلدة الفاكهة، المشكورين على تعاونهم معنا لتحقيق اهداف هذا المشروع. أكثر من 150 طالب شاركوا في هذا النشاط.
أهداف هذا النشاط: التوعية حول أهمية المحافظة على المياه، الحماية من التلوث، فرز النفايات، وترشيد استهلاك المياه خاصة في ظل التغير المناخي.

نأمل ان يكون هذا النشاط قد ساعد في زيادة الوعي لدى الأجيال القادرين على المبادرة لحماية البيئة والمحافظة على المياه وتطبيق ما اكتسبوه ونشره للوصول الى مستقبل صديق للبيئة.

تستكمل جمعية الارتكاز الزراعي الغذائي للتنمية ضمن مشروع #أروي الممول من we world lebanon ضمن برنامج حوكماء الممول من الاتحاد الأوروبي، تنظيف مجرى نهر الفاكهة وازالة العوائق منه لتأمين وصول المياه بشكل كاف للمزارعين والحفاظ على محاصيلهم.
الشكر لكل من تعاون مع فريق العمل لإتمام المهمة بالأخص سعادة محافظ بعلبك الهرمل؛ والمزارعين وسكان البلدة وفعالياتها. النشاط ما زال مستمر وسيتم استكماله بإزالة القصب تحديدا وتدويره ليتم استخدامه كمهاد للتربة والتقليل من التبخر وتقليل نمو الأعشاب الضارة كبديل للمهاد البلاستيكي لنحافظ على البيئة.
تعاونكم أساس النجاح والتنمية للبلدة
within the project funded by We World Lebanon within the Hawkamaa program funded by the European Union, Agri-food Fulcrum Association for Development - AFAD is completing the cleaning of the Fakiha River canal and removing obstacles from it to ensure adequate water access for farmers and preserve their crops.
Thanks to everyone who cooperated with the work team to complete the mission, especially His Excellency the Governor of Baalbek-Hermel. The farmers, and Fakiha's citizens. The activity is still ongoing and will be completed by specifically removing the reeds and recycling them to be used as soil mulch, reducing evaporation and reducing the growth of weeds as an alternative to plastic mulch to save environment.
Your cooperation is the basis of the success and development of the village.

🌾 Wheat Harvesting Season is Here! 🌾For the second consecutive year, Agri-food Fulcrum Association for Development - AFAD AFAD Organization is proud to support local wheat farmers in Aarsal in their harvesting efforts, thanks to the generous backing from Social & Economic Action for Lebanon SEAL. Our commitment to sustainable agricultural projects is stronger than ever, Our initiatives are grounded in thorough baseline assessments, ensuring that our support is both effective and sustainable. We continuously track and evaluate our progress, fostering a spirit of community collaboration and resilience.

More than 200 farmers have been supported, more than 100 hectares have been planted.

Together, we are paving the way for a sustainable future in agriculture. 🌱



🌾 إنه موسم حصاد القمح قد بدأ! 🌾

للسنة الثانية على التوالي، تفخر منظمة الإرتكاز الزراعي-الغذائي للتنمية بدعم مزارعي القمح المحليين في عرسال في جهودهم للحصاد، وذلك بفضل الدعم السخي المقدم من مؤسسة سيل. التزامنا بالمشاريع الزراعية المستدامة أقوى من أي وقت مضى. تستند مبادراتنا إلى تقييمات أساسية للمجتمعات، مما يضمن أن دعمنا فعال ومستدام. نحن نتابع ونقيم تقدم المشروع باستمرار، مما يعزز روح التعاون المجتمعي والمرونة.

ضمن مشروع الذي تنفذه جمعية الارتكاز الزراعي - الغذائي للتنمية Agri-food Fulcrum Association for Development - AFAD بتمويل من ضمن مشروع الممول من الاتحاد الأوروبي
يقوم فريق العمل بزيارة المزارعين في بلدة الفاكهة وجبولة المستفيدين من مياه النهر للزراعة، وتقييم وضع المحاصيل وانتاجيتها مقارنة بتوفر المياه بهدف التعاون معاً لاظهار اهمية تنظيف مجرى النهر وتنفيذ مبادرات تساعد في تقليل نمو الأعشاب الضارة داخل مجرى النهر التي تقلل من جريان المياه وتدفقها وبالتالي تؤدي الى الحد من قدرة الري بشكل كاف لمحاصيلهم.
نؤمن بأن العمل التعاوني والمبادرات تساعد في التنمية المستدامة.
Within the Project funded by Lebanon under program funded by the European Union,
AFAD Team conducts field visits to farmers in Fakiha and Jabouleh villages who benefit from the river water for agriculture, and evaluates the status of crops and their productivity compared to the availability of water with the aim of cooperating together to show the importance of cleaning the river canals and implementing initiatives that help reducing he growth of weeds inside the river canal that reduce water flow and thus lead to Reducing adequate irrigation capacity for their crops.
We believe that cooperative work and initiatives help in sustainable development for communities.

المشروع يهدف الى المحافظة على جودة مصادر المياه المتواجدة في بلدة الفاكهة، تعزيز قدرة المزارعين في الحصول على المياه بشكل كاف لري أراضيهم الزراعية، تنفيذ خطوات عملية تساهم في التخفيف من العوائق التي تقلل من قوة دفع المياه في مجرى نهر بلدة الفاكهة، التوعية حول التوفير في استخدام المياه والعمل على الحد من تلوث المياه.

يسعدنا مشاركتكم إنجاز هام في إطار مشروع "أروي"! بفضل الجهود المخلصة لجمعية الارتكاز الزراعي-الغذائي للتنمية AFAD بالتعاون مع We World Lebanon، والتمويل من برنامج HAWKAMAA EU، خضعت خزانات تجميع مياه الشفةفي الفاكهة وجديدة الفاكهة لعمليات تنظيف وتعقيم شاملة بالتنسيق مع مؤسسة مياه البقاع @مؤسسة مياه البقاع the Bekaa Water Establishment💧✨
إن هذه المبادرة مهمة لأنها تؤثر مباشرة على جودة المياه الصالحة للشرب المتاحة لسكان قرية الفاكهة؛ والتي تأتي من ينبوع طبيعي وتلبي معايير الجودة الصارمة. 🏞️💧

We're thrilled to share a milestone achievement under the ARWI project (Advancing Agricultural Resilience, Revitalizing Rural Water Resources, Waterway Restoration and Management, Investing in Integrated Initiatives)! Thanks to the diligent efforts of Agri-food Fulcrum Association for Development - AFAD in collaboration with Lebanon We World Lebanon, funded by the EU program, the water reservoirs in Fakiha and Jdeide-Fakiha have undergone thorough cleaning and sanitization in coordination with bekaa water estanlishment 💧✨
This initiative is important because it directly impacts the quality of potable water available to the residents of Fakiha village, sourced from a natural spring and meeting stringent quality standards. 🏞️💧

We aim to safeguard public health in Fakiha village by ensuring the purity and safety of its water supply. 💙🌍
