At Besme, we believe that empowering women starts with ensuring they have equal rights, equal opportunities, and the ability to participate fully in their families, communities, and economies.
Discriminatory family laws continue to limit women's opportunities, financial independence, and full participation in society across many countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Addressing these legal barriers is not only a matter of human rights—it is essential for sustainable development, economic growth, and post-conflict recovery.
As an organization dedicated to supporting women through education, empowerment, and advocacy, BESME stands in support of initiatives that promote gender equality, protect women's rights, and create a more inclusive future for all.
We encourage our community to read this important article and learn more about the challenges and the call for reform.
