May 23 marks the official start of Cuba’s medical internationalism. In 1963, Cuban doctors went to tend to the wounded in Angola’s national liberation struggles. Sind then, Cuba’s 600,000+ doctors have served millions of the poor and underserved all over the world. In 2006, President George W Bush tried to undermine this Cuban medical solidarity by offering Cuban doctors and nurses permanent US residency if they defected. Only 2% did.
Currently, Trump is unable to subdue Iran. He is looking for an easier target and thinks Cuba is that easy target.Trump is suffocating Cuba by blockading oil, the lifeline of the modern economy. We must stand in solidarity with Cuba against Trump's aggression.If we do not fight against Trump, if we do not stop Trump, we continue emboldening him. The struggle against Trump will be won with countless many small concrete steps.
