ITAM is a not-for-profit, voluntary-based academic conference for the exchange of academic knowledge and friendship, educational experience, recognition of hosting institute, understanding of different culture and development of better human society Note from the chairman of IITAMS (International ITAM Society)
I suggested opening an international forum to my friends and colleagues, and in the yea
r 2008, we had our first meeting at my school, Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. From the very first conference, many colleagues were fascinated by making an active and friendly meeting that focused on the exchange of research and educational experiences. We focused more on intimate interaction than on extending the size of the congress. I was personally amazed by the huge dynamism the ITAM delegates showed. Everybody wanted to make ITAM a repeated and sustained interaction to better understand the research interests of other members, the hosting universities and institutes, and the culture and industry of the hosting country. It happened as we all wanted, and our memories accumulated full of friendly interaction experiences and evolving academic exchanges. I heartily appreciate the delegates and key executive members for their extensive voluntary contributions. Now the students of the early members have become faculty members and continue the tradition of academic interactions and contributions. As the extensive discussion session of the pre-conference meeting titled "Symposium Future of Asia" implies, our main focus is the future. While enjoying the forum and post-conference industrial visits and cultural experiences, we kept talking about how our efforts can contribute to making a better world for our future generation through education and research. The majority of the delegates were from good institutes in different parts of Asia, but our interaction extended to Europe, the Americas, and Africa. I hope ITAM continues to serve as a platform of interaction in search of optimal alignment among technology, entrepreneurial passion, and societal betterment. I encourage delegates from different parts of the world and different domains to join and enjoy ITAM. Professor Namjae Cho
