[HMUNX Special Program] Dorim High School Model United Nations Workshop & Mentoring

To demonstrate the value of Model United Nations as an educational model for fostering global citizens who understand the values of mutual respect and inclusiveness, the 10th Hanyang University Model United Nations Conference collaborated with Dorim High School in Incheon to conduct a Model United Nations Workshop and a Career and College Mentoring Program. Despite the short duration of the session, various creative solutions for sustainable Arctic governance were derived, proving the potential and necessity of the role of future generations in solving international issues. Based on the experience gained from this program, the Hanyang University Model United Nations Conference will continue to cooperate with various schools and do its utmost to support future global leaders for a better world.

[HMUNX Special Program] Visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

After the conference, we visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to express our gratitude and hold a meeting with Ambassador and Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy, Sang-woo Lim, regarding the special lecture he delivered on the final day. In the meeting, Ambassador gave us warm and helpful and advice on the qualities required to enter the international field, which strengthened our dreams of stepping onto the global stage. In particular, we also had a chance to hear in detail about the Ambassador's experience of becoming the first head of a diplomatic mission to launch and operate a YouTube Channel. We deeply resonated with the role of a social media platform to unfold the potential and strength of Korea's soft power.

[HMUNX Special Program] 12th Korea Arctic Academy

To gain expertise knowledge and provide participants with a more vivid international perspective, we participated in the 12th Korea Arctic Academy, hosted by the Korea Maritime Institute. During the five days of the program, we attended special lectures by various experts on the Arctic and interacted with friends from the indigenous community in the Arctic. Through the experience, we could deepen our understanding of the Arctic, viewing as a place where it possesses rich culture, history, and natural environment, beyond the political discourses of economy and military.
