We invite you to take part in a meaningful, hands-on initiative supporting girls’ health through World Vision Korea’s 𝘉𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 campaign.

For this collective volunteering, we are also collaborating with our impact partner—Green Climate Fund (GCF) Women—with hopes to empower girls and women in marginalized communities around the world.

Participants will sew reusable menstrual pad kits to be distributed to girls in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia..

SIWA Spring Fundraiser · 26.05.11 🌸

Flowers, quiet moments, and a chance to slow down for a little while.

SIWA members enjoyed a guided ikebana & hana therapy experience—learning firsthand how flower arrangement a can also serve as a form of mindful self-expression and healing.

A heartfelt thank you to Mon, fellow SIWA member, for so generously sharing her talent for this workshop and Sun, our Director of Social Impact, for leading this meaningful fundraising initiative in support of SIWA’s charitable efforts.

Coffee Morning (CoMo) · 26.05.06 ☕📚

This month’s Coffee Morning brought us to a cozy book café and fair trade shop in Hyehwa where conversations flowed between shelves of books and cups of coffee/tea.

Alongside welcoming Liane as our new Coffee Morning Coordinator, members also spent time browsing through the the café’s fair trade shop filled with coffee, chocolates, snacks, and other thoughtfully sourced products.

Meet 𝐋𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐞, our new Coffee Morning Coordinator ☕✨

Originally from Germany, Liane is a middle school teacher who has lived in London, New Delhi, and Bangkok—experiences that shaped her love for cultural exchange, community, and connecting with people from around the world 🌍

Many of you may already recognize her from other SIWA events, where she has been actively helping out and warmly engaging with members of our community. As our new Coffee Morning Coordinator, she looks forward to creating welcoming spaces where members can connect, share stories, and build meaningful friendships together.

We’re so excited to officially welcome her to the SIWA team. Welcome, Liane!

Volunteering at Taiwha Fountain House · 26.05.04 🌏🇳🇱

In our latest session, we had our SIWA intern Sofie—from the Netherlands—to share stories and aspects of Dutch culture through her cultural presentation.

One especially touching moment from the day was our SIWA volunteers receiving handmade keyrings created by one of the class attendees. 감사합니다!

What a joyful way to celebrate Children’s Day! 🧸

Last Sunday for our annual 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 event, children from Chung Woon Welfare Home joined volunteers from SIWA, Open Arms Korea, and the Association of Mexican Women in Korea for a day filled with games, laughter, and sweet surprises.

The day began with lunch and snacks together at Seoul Foreign School before everyone learned a little more about Mexico—from basic Spanish greetings to beso culture. The children then moved through different stations around the school, enjoying storytelling, trying on traditional Mexican clothing, playing La víbora de la mar in the gym, and learning Lotería—a beloved Mexican game similar to bingo. To end the fun-filled day, everyone gathered for the much-awaited piñata 🍬✨

A heartfelt thank you to for coordinating with Chung Woon Welfare Home, for preparing such thoughtful and engaging activities, and our SIWA volunteers for helping create such a warm and memorable day for the children.

Volunteering at Taiwha Fountain House · 26.04.27 🌏🇦🇷

Through our SIWA x Taiwha Cultural Discovery Program, volunteers from SIWA’s international community create a welcoming space for cultural exchange, confidence-building, and connection through conversation.

In our latest session, we were joined by Agus, our volunteer from Argentina—a vibrant South American country known for its rich culture, from tango to its breathtaking landscapes.

Join us for 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆—our annual Children’s Day initiative where connection, joy, and collective action come to life.

Korean Speaking Club · 26.04.23 💬🇰🇷

When learning a new language, remembering what we learn matters just as much as learning it. So for this month’s K-Speaking Club, our learners tried writing down new vocabulary, phrases, and sentences as conversations flowed.

It was a simple way to take a little piece of the session home and made the learning feel a bit more personal (also, a lot more colorful).
