We want to wish our beautiful and amazing COO, Joanna Mae Marshallsay, a happy birthday! She was the 4th board member to initially join our team about a year ago. Since then, she has fearlessly led multiple fundraisers, has helped us build the systems and determine what Rootline will be, and started our Health Professionals Network group.

As one of the most tenacious leaders of our organization, it is an understatement to say how important she is to our vision. Happy birthday friend! You are appreciated and loved today!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Tamara Beck, one of our co-founding officers, on her competitive selection for the 2026–2027 Military Spouse Leadership Initiative (MSLI) cohort!

MSLI develops informed, connected, and action-oriented military spouses who are committed to strengthening military quality of life through community engagement, advocacy, and leadership. This year’s cohort will move participants beyond awareness and into action by equipping them with the relationships, skills, and practical experience needed to create meaningful change within military installations, local communities, states, and the broader military ecosystem.

Tamara’s selection is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving and advocating for the military community. We know she will bring her passion, experience, and collaborative spirit to this incredible opportunity while continuing to make a positive impact wherever she serves.

Back-to-school question for the Humphreys community: what's the one school supply you always had to have as a kid?

We're asking because on August 1 we're handing out those exact supplies, free, to families at the Hub, and we're still building our volunteer crew. Want to be part of it?

And then the conversation moves on and you're standing there holding a license you can't use in this country.

Health Professionals Network is a new Rootline Circle for people at Humphreys whose healthcare careers are on hold for the tour. RN, PT, OT, SLP, PA, pharmacy, dental hygiene, social work, counseling, respiratory, radiology, tech. Licensed, credentialed, and not practicing here.

Nobody at this table is going to fix Korean licensure. This is a room of people who paid the same renewal fee for the same unusable license and are doing the same math about the same resume gap.
