📚 Special illustrator visit with Sera Latterell, who illustrated the Oprah Winfrey book in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series. The kids learned all about what it takes to become an illustrator and got a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.

🎉Birthday Grams🎉

Our FINAL Birthday Celebration of the year for birthdays in May, June and July, will be held on Wednesday, May 20th during your students’ regularly-scheduled lunch hour.‼️It’s not too late to get them signed up for all the fun!

Your kiddos meet Oscar on stage, where they will also eat their lunch and receive their gift. Each birthday student may also invite one friend to join them! Parents are also welcome to attend as well!

UPK students will receive a birthday gram and card from Oscar. Due to their lunch routine and restrictions they are not able to participate in lunch with Oscar.

Join us for a fun Park Pop In event next Tuesday, May 19th after dismissal at the playground near “park & walk”. Come hang out, meet the new board members, and learn about chair positions for next year. Drinks and popsicles provided while supplies last! ☀️

We wrapped up Teacher Appreciation Week today with little succulent gifts for our HWES teachers. 🌿🤎

“Life would succ without teachers like you” felt pretty fitting.

This week was full of good food, snack carts, kind notes, and lots of appreciation for the people who pour so much into our kids every day. We hope our staff felt just how loved they are.

A little peek at one of the projects we’ve been working on behind the scenes for Teacher Appreciation Week 🌿

Each note was created with so much gratitude for the people who pour into our students every single day. The theme this year is “Growing Great Minds,” and we wanted these to feel thoughtful, personal, and rooted in appreciation.

Today’s focus was simple: give every teacher a note of encouragement and gratitude. Sometimes the smallest gestures end up meaning the most 🤍
