As we celebrate Labor Day and gather for this First Friday devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we come as workers and as children of God.
In a world that measures people by productivity, it is easy to feel that our value depends on how much we earn, how much we do, or how strong we appear. But the Gospel tells us something different.
“𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭.”
Jesus does not look at us as workers first, He looks at us as His own. He sees the tired hands, the silent sacrifices, the hidden tears, and the love we carry for our families.
For many migrant workers, life is not easy. There is homesickness, pressure, uncertainty, and exhaustion that others may not see. Yet even in these struggles, God is close.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is open to all, especially to those who feel weary and unseen.
Today, we are reminded:
We are not just laborers.
We are not just providers.
We are not just survivors.
𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱.
“𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲.”
As we offer our work, our sacrifices, and our burdens to the Lord, may we also become a source of rest for others, a community that listens, cares, and walks together in faith.
You are seen.
You are loved.
“𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲. 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗺𝗼 𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗶.” ❤️
