Working towards a future where children in Cambodia are safe, healthy, educated, thriving, and happy.

Children´s Future International (CFI) was founded in 2009 by Jenny Ciucci and Andrew Wolff to be a community-based organization to promote children's rights and uphold the dignity of the most vulnerable in rural areas of Battambang Province, Cambodia. CFI envisions a future where every child in Cambodia is safe, healthy, educated, thriving and happy. It´s mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable, marginalized and at-risk children in Battambang province by providing access to quality education; promoting child rights; ensuring physical safety, health and wellness; inspiring children and young adults to act as positive role models within their communities; fostering self-reliance among families and communities while sharing joy together. Today, CFI serves over 400 at-risk children, youth, and their families through four main program areas: social work services to ensure the basic needs and safety of families, supplementary education in the learning center to support children with their studies, education advocacy to keep them in school and special projects to provide additional youth empowerment opportunities. CFI Staff retreat!

Our staff retreat is here! We will take this opportunity to reflect on our strategic direction, learn together as an organization, and take a well-deserved break to recharge, have fun, and celebrate all the hard work everyone on the team does for children and families.

CFI will be closed from September 23-25, 2026, and will reopen on Monday, September 28.

Project Management Training!

We were excited to host Possibilities World in our new center for a 2-day Effective Project Design and Management workshop. This collaboration was a great way to help create more opportunities for professional development in Battambang and we were glad that a few of our staff were able to join.

The training delivered practical knowledge and tools to help plan, manage, and deliver projects more effectively. Through interactive activities, group discussions, and hands-on exercises, staff explored how to better understand problems, set clear and realistic goals, break big ideas into manageable actions, identify and overcome challenges, and make the best use of available resources. The workshop also highlighted the importance of teamwork, communication, prioritization, and regularly checking progress and evaluating impact.

A big thank you to Possibilities World for sharing your knowledge, experience, and practical tools with 13 NGOs in Battambang through this valuable workshop!

CFI’s guard team!

Our guards do so much more than maintain security, they help make CFI a safe and welcoming place for our children.

Every day, they welcome the students when they come to CFI, helping make sure they are safe when they arrive, between classes, and going home. They also help maintain the facilities and motos, including regularly cutting the grass to reduce the risk of mosquitoes and snakes.

Ensuring every child stays in school remains our priority!

In rural Cambodia, secondary and high schools are fewer and farther apart than primary schools, creating transportation challenges that can lead to attendance issues or even dropping out of school entirely. To help address this barrier, CFI recently provided seven bicycles to students, making it easier and safer for them to travel to school each day.

This support reflects our commitment to promoting equitable access to education and helping students overcome challenges that may prevent them from continuing their studies.

We sincerely thank our valued partner, Basaid, for their continued support in helping students stay in school and build a brighter future.

Supporting Staff Well-Being

At CFI, we believe that supporting our staff is just as important as supporting the communities we serve.

Recently, two of our staff were able to join a training from a Cambodian Leadership Learning Community (CLLC) network partner on work-life balance and psychological first aid. They then took what they learned, and shared it with the rest of the team, helping staff learn practical ways to manage stress, protect their well-being, and build resilience in the workplace.

The training also helped staff better understand mental health, recognize signs that someone may be struggling, and respond empathetically. Together, we’re working to create a workplace where everyone feels safe, supported, respected, and comfortable asking for help when they need it.

Every child deserves a roof that keeps out the rain and a door that locks at night.

For one local family of six, that basic right was just out of reach. The father works tirelessly to care for his four children, ranging from 18 years down to just 1 year old, while the mother stays home to care for their baby girl.

Without any financial means of repairing their home, the roof would leak during the rainy season, they had no means to secure their home or belongings, and they had to use a nearby relative’s house to go to the bathroom.

We want to extend our thanks to the Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth for identifying the family and collaborating with us to make a bigger difference in the community. This is all thanks to the incredible generosity of The Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), CFI is able to build this family a brand-new, safe home complete with a proper toilet.

We can't wait to see their dream of a safe home come to life. Thank you for making these smiles possible!
